captaintau Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 We have "ideas for new Star Wars sets" so how about the same for Batman. Some ideas have already been put out. I know its a bit presumptuous with the first sets not even out yet, but hey TLG might just read this! My first idea, off the back of the Batcave is Wayne Manor. Could have various rooms but I suggest a dining room, lounge and garage (as seen in the films) and a dojo for Bruce. Would come with Bruce, Alfred and Dick. Have it on stilts so as it could fit over the top of the Batcave for added playability Quote

Well one of the Joker's goons was played by Mac MacDonald who I've had the pleasure of meeting and have had a photo taken with. Very nice chap. Not very complimentary about Jack Nicholson, though. Batman succeeds where Spiderman fails because of the vehicles and cool gadgets. To downplay this aspect of the character will ultimately result in weaker set design. Sure, I'd love to see a Gotham P.D., or something similar, however I don't want weak scene sets that end up looking dull. If Batman makes a comeback for a second (or even third) year, I wouldn't mind seeing vehicles based on the film. A Batman Begins "Tumbler" or 1989 Burton mobile would really make my day! Heck, I would love to see the 1960s Lincoln Futura batmobile. As for buildings, Gotham P.D. is obvious, as is Wayne Mannor. In all honesty, I'm happy so long as we don't start seeing playsets. Smacking a few random parts together and calling it a scene simply isn't my cup of tea. Give me well-built Bat vehicles and complete buildings over action scenes any day of the week! Later. Quote

You have an opinion there, but don't forget one can hardly argue over taste. I personally prefer architecture and playset-features over vehicles anyday. That's exactly what bothered me with the SW line. And for reception of Batman as a character, I'd say he is strong through gadgets, but in the end it boils down to the interaction between Batman and Gotham city. I think it's rather the city itself, than the villains, which is Batman's ultimate enemy. Quote

I think that TLC should produce more "scenes sets" - those are great parts pack for great MOCing !!!! The only problem is that it would cost a lot more (except for mini scenery sets like Spiderman had). Even in "Vehicle" sets, TLC should give us a lot more city elements !!!! (street names, lamp post...) But do not forget that Lego is a toy inended for kids so its normal to see a vast majority of vehicles coming out !!! Fast playability value !!! Yoda Quote

Why would Batman lit the signal himself? Is he supposed to be reading while jetting around in his Batwing, and needs some illumination from the Batsignal reflecting from the clouds?!
