Fugazi Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I was looking for the UK LUG webpage and can't seem to find it anywhere. I though I was good at Googleing stuff, turns out this one eludes me! I was looking for more info about activities, membership, etc. Or maybe is there a Scot-LUG instead? I'm sure there are British members here who could steer me in the right direction, thanks if you can help! Quote
ILikePi Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 (edited) The Brickish Association is probably your best bet for a UK LUG. Edited January 17, 2010 by ILikePi Quote

chris_austin Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Great, thanks ILikePi! I kind of assumed it would be called UK LUG When I searched some time ago, I expected to find a few but there are surprisingly few large LUG's in the UK Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 There is one. I can't find any near me at all, no events I can get too and no Lego Shops anywher close to go to It's just me on my lonesome. Quote
Ralph_S Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 There indeed is just one. Brickish has about 200 members from throughout the UK (as well as a few foreign members, including yours truly). Obviously because the population density is the highest in the South, that's where most of the action is (we have a big annual event in Swindon, for instance). That said, I've been to events in Sheffield, Stoke-on Trent, Leicester and Manchester, to name a few places. Members from Scotland tend to have events up there. Beyond that it's a great way to find out about where you can get discounts, a way to participate in LUGBulk, you get a quarterly newsletter and you get to know other LEGO builders. There might not be events close to where you live, but there may be other builders with whom you can get together. I've made a lot of friends through Brickish. They're a great bunch of people. Membership costs £12 a year and is worth every penny IMO Cheers, Ralph Quote
