StoutFiles Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 (edited) Reported as well, hope you see results. Anyone who puts this much work into creating a manual does not deserve to have their work used for someone else's profit. Edited May 25, 2013 by StoutFiles Quote
Bob De Quatre Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 People have no shame... But does selling stolen instructions like that really works? I mean building a model like this one is a task for AFOL, and AFOL should know where to find the "real" instructions. I've started watching TCW last week, and I'm beginning to fall in love with the Venator... I'm considering switching from building the Executor to building this model... I decided to buy the instuctions and start this project. I give myself 4-5 months to finish, will probably spend $100-$150 a month on pieces until I have them all. My reasoning in pulling the trigger. I don't think this will get an official UCS from TLG in the near futre, if at all. If they do one it will most likely not look as good as this one and not as detailed. No need to wait years on something that "might happen" when I can start now. The bricklinking will be a nightmare for me, I feel I just need to put a good amount of preparation into the planning and it should be ok. I have already made a spreadsheet in Excel to help me with this and inventoried the parts I already have. I would like to keep my orders to the minimum amounts of stores. I will most likely start with the high quantity items and work down to the lower quantity. Any advice from someone who has done this will be greatly appreciated. You can check Lobot's post to get some good advices. You can look at the spreadsheet I made for bricklinking my SSD, it could help you. Good luck for the project Quote
Anio Posted May 25, 2013 Author Posted May 25, 2013 Thank you for your help. It is much appreciated. Quote

Good luck for the project Thanks Bob, it's nice to be appreciated This is appalling and I've reported him too I hope that Ebay remove it and ban their account. For anyone thinking of buying Anio's instructions I can highly recommend them; I've got a copy for his UCS Slave 1 and they're really professional and look easy to follow......I really ought to get around to building it sometime!! Chills Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 I filed a report, too. Some people have no shame. I hate thieves! I hope he gets his auction pulled. Good luck, Anio. BTW, your Venerator is friggin' amazing! Quote
Zaeley Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Also reported. It's such a shame to see someone trying to make a profit of others work. Quote
jmagaletta Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Son of a... The guy is selling the instruction on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4ac421f488 Seller ended the item. Guess he was reported enough/spammed Quote
Anio Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 (edited) Seller ended the item. Guess he was reported enough/spammed It seems so. :) The guy finally answerd my emails. :) Thank you to everyone who helped me. :) Edited May 28, 2013 by Anio Quote
Anio Posted May 29, 2013 Author Posted May 29, 2013 Curious, what did he say? He told me that a friend of him designed the model and that he could sell the instruction. @_@ Quote
Anio Posted May 30, 2013 Author Posted May 30, 2013 @ everyone who bought the instruction : the instruction will be very slightly updated in the next days/weeks. Few parts will be removed (9 parts, exactly). But 2 plates 1x4 dark bluish gray will be added. Add this item in your BL orders if you do not have any in your spare parts. Quote
jmagaletta Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 if you don't mind me asking, why were a few parts removed? Stability? Clearance? Quote
Anio Posted May 30, 2013 Author Posted May 30, 2013 if you don't mind me asking, why were a few parts removed? Stability? Clearance? A "little" problem to attach the bottom middle edge. :D Frousmoul will do his best to provide the new version ASAP. Each member who bought the instruction will be e-mailed or PM. Quote
thrakkazz Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 hello, Definitly 5$ is cheap for the amount fo work and that looks like a huge one ! Congratulation ! Just 1 question: Do you have an estimate of the cost to build it ? Ok and another question: I'm really fond of the sith harrower Any idea where i could find instruction (free or not free) for an at list 60cm long model ? Thanks and once again great work Quote
Anio Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 1) About 800€ 2) I don't know. Perhaps Brickshelf has such a model. Quote
thrakkazz Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Hello, Could you please summarize what kind of file you are providing. I read about LCAD, PDF, XML Thanks Quote
Anio Posted June 3, 2013 Author Posted June 3, 2013 HD pdf instruction. And XML file for bricklink if you ask. No 3D file supplied. Quote
jmagaletta Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Anio, I was not aware the bricklink xml was available. Can I please request it? Quote
Flash Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Couple quick things I noticed when trying to import the file into BrickLink: 1. <QTY>5</QTY> needs to be changed to <MINQTY>5</MINQTY> or you wont get minimum quantities when importing. 2. Users might consider replacing <ITEMID>298c05</ITEMID> with <ITEMID>4592c02</ITEMID> (not the same color, but best choice I think for availability) 3. Users might consider changing <CONDITION>N</CONDITION> to <CONDITION></CONDITION> This will change the Condition from New to New or Used. (depends on preference) I wanted to get it into BrickLink to see what the pieces needed are. Have to look through my collection and see how much I have and if I want to attempt this monster :) Also will look at the plans to see what colors can be subbed in for cost savings.. Thanks again! Flash Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Oh, and one more thing for those people thinking about building this, you can easily (and cheaply) replace the 2x3 wedges with (3)2x3 wedge plates. I did this when I bricklinked my UCS Millenium Falcon. (saves a fortune). I'm going to keep looking at the PDF and part list for other good cost savings ideas. (what parts are hidden and can be color swapped, etc). Awesome amount of work in the docs, and a nice build. This might be the first project that gets me to canabalize my other sets to build (both my death stars are torn down at the moment, so they will be the first to go... :) ) Quote

Flash Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 6564 and 6565 are the wedges replace them with: 43722 and 43723 Replace each wedge with 3 plates and it'll work perfectly Quote
