cavegod Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 (edited) Well it took me long enough to finish this Moc started it just after Xmas but had to wait for Bricklink orders to turn up. It works out at about 1/33 scale albeit it is 1 stud to long but alas Lego don't make the right wedge plate for the perfect angle of the hull. so here you go a few pictures, if anybody has any suggestions to improve the design feel free to post. folder when public http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=417177 Deeplinks http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/cavegod/...-7/p1150157.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/cavegod/...-7/p1150158.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/cavegod/...-7/p1150160.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/cavegod/...-7/p1150161.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/cavegod/...-7/p1150162.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/cavegod/...-7/p1150163.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/cavegod/...-7/p1150165.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/cavegod/...-7/p1150167.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/cavegod/...-7/p1150168.jpg Edited January 31, 2010 by KimT Quote

General Magma Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Could you please resize this gigantic picture? It's so big that it can't even load for me. ~ General Magma Quote
Big Cam Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 As stated, that image has its own gravitational pull it's so large. besides that, I like it, very simialr to Asohkas ship, I like the colors and the scale. Quote
cavegod Posted January 18, 2010 Author Posted January 18, 2010 strange the picture loads in less than a second for me and i only have a 2mb connection. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Very nice cockpit design, interior especially! The R2-Dome idea was also very innovative! I've never really liked the Delta-7 series, but you made it look great! But really, the interior is astounding! It looks just like something out of the movie! Quote
Matteo Kenobi Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Wow great job, this is one of my favorite ships and you really did an excellent job! I really like the way you did the tip of the ship, once again great job! Quote
heofthehothbrick Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Nicely done. One of the best versions of the Delta 7 I've seen. As has been said, the cockpit is very well done - one of the best I'd say. A lot of nice details there alone. Quote
General Magma Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Now it loads, so I can comment on it; you've done an awesome job, looks really great and the use of an ep3 JSF cockpit as the cockpit of this ship is a nice idea aswell! It looks very accurate and I like how you made the Astromech Droid-Dome. Probably one of the best Delta-7's I've seen. Great job. ~ General Magma Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Great MOC Starfighter 'CaveGod' ! Shape and colouring spot on ! I'm a conformist! 'CaveGod' ! Quote
Legostein Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Hello! That's a very good Delta-7 Aethersrpite! It looks fantastic! My vafourite part is the SNOTted fron with the white 1x4 slopes. The "blending over" into the dark red wing design with wedge plates is very smooth. I have one question, though. You have included so many nice details that it would suit the already great design well if you could open the rear hatches to "prepare jettison the spare parts canisters". If it's already included I must have missed it on the pictures. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
RileyC Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 The scale is pretty spot on imo. The shape is good and so is the colours. You did a great job on this. Quote
Oky Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Nice work. Very detailed, just like a UCS model should be. The only thing that bothers me is that the wings seem too flat. It would have been nice if they had a bit more of an angle to them. As you said, it's hard to achieve the needed angle, but not impossible. And by the way, it's Aethersprite. Quote

Yeah the wings should slope like an ISD but iv'e spent far to long on it now i would have liked landing gear but i would have to scale it up to make it practicle, maybe i could have it landed..... yeah i know it's Aethersprite but i cannot edit the title or i haven't found a way to??? CELESTRIAL Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 i absolutely LOVE the shape of this, its perfect ! if only TLG released something like this ! it looks very spot on, great job Quote
pedro Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Superb model cavegod. Looks like the swooshability factor is through the roof on this one! Highlights for me have got to be your cockpit and green/white detailing... really like your solution for the UCS astromech too. Nice work! ...I like it, very simialr to Asohkas ship, I like the colors and the scale. Or Ahsoka's starfighter is very similar to this one, Obi-Wan's Delta 7 in episode 2. Quote
cavegod Posted January 19, 2010 Author Posted January 19, 2010 Cheers for all the compliments! it's nice to build a model in different colours other than greys, i'd really like to build a Slave-1 sometime but i cannot figure how to do it, but after the AT-AT i will build summat colourful just don't know what yet..... cavegod Posted January 21, 2010 Author Posted January 21, 2010 has anybody any ideas of how to make the join of the red wedge plate and white slopes at the front sides smoother? Quote
Delta 38 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Very impressive. I like the Astromech head build. Quote
cavegod Posted January 31, 2010 Author Posted January 31, 2010 Very impressive. I like the Astromech head build. i didn't know wether to have the dome painted to look like an astromech unit or leave it as it is, maybe a sticker would be better Quote
