WesternOutlaw Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Very nice RC, but please watch your image size. Site guidelines = no larger than 800x600. Thanks. Quote
Ricecracker Posted January 31, 2010 Author Posted January 31, 2010 Woops. I thought I'd resized them. I'll do that right now. Quote
prateek Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 I'm making this one motorized though... actually, the one at your house is probably motorized, too Actually, my garage isn't motorized I really like that Ford van you've got going. The roof looks very slick Quote
Ricecracker Posted February 10, 2010 Author Posted February 10, 2010 (edited) Here is the first picture of the completed fire truck, R134. It's not a very good photo, but it'll be replaced in due time. Edited February 10, 2010 by Ricecracker Quote
prateek Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Nice! I'm loving all that chrome. Just a question, is that just plain red, because it looks darker than usual. Quote
Ricecracker Posted February 10, 2010 Author Posted February 10, 2010 Nice! I'm loving all that chrome. Just a question, is that just plain red, because it looks darker than usual. Thanks, Prateek. And no, that's dark red and pearl gold. Only the new trucks are regular red. Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Totally AWESOME ! I just love fire trucks and yours is way cool ! Chrome and red steel - sweet ! Great work 'Ricecracker' and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Rick Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Great way to work with the - undoubtedly - limited selection of elements available in dark-red. I now see you've SNOT-ed the whole cab. Too bad you can't add stuff like compartments (probably because of the limitations of dark-red). But the dark-red, gold, and chrome sure look sweet together. How's progress on the station? Quote
ImLost Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Great looking truck, Ricecracker, and also very realistic. I think the wheels are too small but the shape and details are well done! Quote

The back rolling doors do work, you just can't see it in this picture Great looking truck, Ricecracker, and also very realistic. Tri95 Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Very nice your firestation, like the details... Quote
Ricecracker Posted February 10, 2010 Author Posted February 10, 2010 How's progress on the station? It's going well. I have the whole back, front and left walls done, with the right side about 1/3 done. Then I just have to add the roof. Very nice your firestation, like the details... Thanks, Tri95! Quote
Ricecracker Posted February 20, 2010 Author Posted February 20, 2010 I attempted to take new pictures of R134 tonight, but they all came out horribly. The one picture that was suitable to post was the following, showing the Stihl Chainsaw that I built to go along with the truck. Quote
prateek Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 That is one nice chainsaw. I like how you bent the handcuffs Quote
slacker int Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 That Stihl is great! Easily recognizable and with such great parts usage it's definitely one of the best mini-fig chainsaws. This entire project is fantastic, and I'm eagerly awaiting seeing it completed! Quote
Ricecracker Posted March 2, 2010 Author Posted March 2, 2010 That is one nice chainsaw. I like how you bent the handcuffs Thanks. It took a while to figure out what use for the handle, but it fits perfectly. That Stihl is great! Easily recognizable and with such great parts usage it's definitely one of the best mini-fig chainsaws. This entire project is fantastic, and I'm eagerly awaiting seeing it completed! Thanks! Glad it's so recognizable. I've got another WIP shot today. I've built up the back and the sides, and have done about half of the top roof: Quote
Davey Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 This MOC is coming along great! I love the fire-truck with all that 'chrome beautiful'. The station looks like it's coming along nicely, but my favorite detail so far is your Stihl chainsaw! Certainly the best Minifig chainsaw I have seen. I suspect that a number of us with be ste...ahem...borrowing that design for future MOC's. I know I will at least. Seriously great work here. I can't wait to see the finished product and I am even more excited to see it in person this summer! -Davey Quote

It took a while to get the design right, especially since it's based on the one they actually use. Once I found the cuffs for the handle, I knew it was perfect. Feel free to use the design. I also made a Stihl circular saw, but haven't been able to get half-decent pictures yet . I can't wait to see the finished product and I am even more excited to see it in person this summer! Neither can I! You'll be able to see it in June no matter what. Jenn's taking it down even if I can't go. Whether or not she can put it back together is another issue... prateek Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Nice job on the roof! I'm really looking forward to the final model Quote
ACCURATEin Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I like the chrome pieces for the bumper. Also, great progress on the building. Quote
Ricecracker Posted March 7, 2010 Author Posted March 7, 2010 Thanks, everyone! I've got some more pictures; a mobile generator, Stihl rotary saw and a group shot with the chainsaw. The mobile generator is heavily inspired by Noddy's. Quote
prateek Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Nice saw and generator! They look so accurate. It's amazing what you can do small pieces Quote
