What?!

Then you realise that it's really nice to go to a foreign country which has the same money. It makes your life easier, no question about money!

Denmark and England, when will you be members of the Eurozone?

When you guys have gotten Greece back on the track.

Until then - no thank you!

You're all adults - bring credit cards.

Denmark is NOT a 3rd World country - we do accept all the normal credit cards.

(Not the pesky Carte Bleu though).

We can bring credit cards but can we use them to pay for the accommodation? The first post refers to cash which makes sense if there are several people sharing rooms I suppose.

As for getting Danish money out I've been able to get money out of the bank machine in Legoland without problems. The last time I visited Billund the credit card machines weren't working in the store near the entrance and I had to leave Afenz holding a bundle of newly released star wars sets in the store while I dashed to the nearby machine. I used a normal bank card. I can't remember if it was Cirrus or Maestro but if either or these are on your bank card it will probably work okay in the machines.

No activity. No activity. No activity. LOADS OF REPLYS!!

I will call this Event group for Ketchup!

I will need to talk to the Village today anyway, so I will ask what cards they will accept.

I will write that on the first post.

First post is always in motion, so you need to check it regulary.

There will be an update there in a few minutes as a matter of fact.

And for the names that you need to PM me, I need just the names, not your entire address.

Even though it can be good for me personaly if I want to send something to you sometime.

So Dfenz, I need the names of your + 3 please.

Of course you can pay by credit card.

They can easily split a bill and then have people pay individually by credit card.

If not, then I'll make a scene worth YouTubing

OT: Last summer I found a restaurant in Copenhagen that would not accept my Swedish VISA card but took a Danish VISA. It was the card machine that would not accept my card, when the employee found out it was a non-Danish card they almost proclaimed me for a moron. Of course you can't use NON Danish VISA-cards! Say what?

I did not know there was a difference.

Had no problem with my non-Danish VISA in any other place in Denmark, including LEGOLAND.

Wish I could join in on this event. :(

Heya folks, I just thought I should warn you, I'm not staying at the village :sceptic: . Wasn't my choice, unfortunately. But luckily, We're staying just next door.

Hopefully this will be fine;

Legoman

P.S. Is there anyone else flying in from Germany (frankfert) On the Wedensday evening?

Accepting VISA or not, it still might be a good idea to bring danish currency, DKK, for general purposes. I'm not sure how it's in the rest of europe, but Denmark has additional fees connected to card-usage (unless that policy has been done away with), unlike Norway where a plastic-card is the preferred form of payment. So using a card, excepting perhaps the DK-Card, is not a very smart move, financially.

Oh, and Quarryman and DNL, in case you want to bring physical money with you, DKK can usually be bought at the ferry. So no stress with finding the correct foreign-currency minibank at Oslo S.

Its probably still a lot cheaper than buying more DK at an Irish or other euro-zone bank and getting ripped off not only with foreign exchange commission but also on the exchange rate itself. I've found the Visa conversion rates tend to be better than the rates at the currency exchange counters at bank branches. Remember in the unlikely event that I've any DK left after Legoland shops I'll have to convert it back so the banks scr*w me again. Furthermore as I'm flying via Scotland I'm already having to acquire sterling so I'll have three different currencies in my pocket when I arrive!!

I'm usually just lazy and use an ATM wherever I are, the fees are rarely that bad  I have some monopolySwedish money lying around that I thought I should bring and spend on the ferry though, from my last visit to Swedonia back in early February.

Woooooh!

Tales of mystery and imagination. :cry_happy:

Excitement ON!

Don´t build up your imaginations to much, then you might get disapointed.

There is plans for things the rest of us have done before, but our "new" Eventees in Billund haven´t.

However no vault anymore, because it is not opened to bigger groups anymore :cry_sad:

Or is there something else... :hmpf:

Do you have a link to the website of the hotel? I'd like to see if there's free wifi (or how much it costs in case it's not free)?

Thank you!

It says the rooms have Internet access (good news!), but doesn't mention what it costs.

I am excited, too and I'm counting the days. Well, you certainly knew that.

I didn't have vacation for 3 months - work is really, really exhausting right now and I can't wait to get some nice 5 days off everything I have to think about right now (including family  ).

This year I will be travelling with Zorro and Boney. My first experience here, too, because I always came alone or with my son so far. I'm sure we will have a blast on our way, but we will have to deal with heavy road work from Bremen to Hamburg. Hopefully it is not taking us too long to get to Billund and even more hopefully nobody is going to ask us about all that boxes in our car.

I have stayed at the hotel two years ago, I know the surroundings - what more could I ask?
