Rosst Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Hello, I just purchased the Lego Star Wars Figure Packs and I thought that they would look really great inside of a glass display case. I've looked online but sadly I can't find any that would be the right size. They are usually large store display cases or small ones big enough for individual figures. Does anyone here have a display case. If so... where did you purchase it from? Quote
charlieboy Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 (edited) x2! I have also been looking for something suitable for a few minifigs,i found one on ebay but its quite expensive and a bit too big for what i need,i think im going to build my own now! Edited January 23, 2010 by charlieboy Quote
Stacy_ToT-LUG Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Something I found that works quite well was a golf ball display case (found at JoAnn Etc, or any other similar craft store). I have my Fabuland figs displayed in mine (quick picture here on Flickr) and I think it would work quite well for minifigs too. Cost was $50 but I got it for $30, so the price is very reasonable. I'm planning to pick up another one for my Harry Potter figs :) Hope that helps. ~Stacy Quote
Big Cam Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I know there has beena t least one topic on this before with soime success, I know I've seen pics before, let me see if I can find it. Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I've emptied a bookcase to store the small MOCs in, but after a while they get dusty. After my ship is complete I'm planning to build a big cupboard myself using lots of glass. Dust free, big storage, and protected. Expensive joke though, but the ship is going to cost a lot as well, so I want to 'preserve' it good. For short term empty bookcases work well IMO. Quote
Rosst Posted February 6, 2010 Author Posted February 6, 2010 Thank you for the opinions everyone. I found that JYSK has long narrow glass display cases for only $75.00 Can. and they are about 5 feet tall. I think I'll go down that route and get a golf display case for my extra figures. Quote
mania3 Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I don't know if they have the store where you are, but, The Container Store sells MANY hobby related display cases of ALL sizes. I've got one that has my whole Fabuland collection on display, and I've even got some that are just bigger than a minifigure, so I've got single figures on display (Chrome Darth Vader, etc.) If they've got a location near you, or ship to wherever you are, that's what I would do. Oky Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Well, looks like Lego is releasing an official Minifig display case: Looks like it's taking up a lot of space for just 15 minifigs, but it's good to look at, easy to use, and probably keeps your figs safe for quite some time. Maybe you can just use it for your most favorite figs. Quote
RileyC Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Its annoying that its just fifteen cause then you cant display all the new collectable minifigs inside there without having to choose one to be left out. The case still looks nice though Quote

The case still looks nice though I'm sure most of the other collectible minifigs wouldn't mind sharing a slot with the cheerleader. Quote

Oky Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 I saw this at the store today. It's $15 (which is okay IMO) and is quite nice. Its annoying that its just fifteen cause then you cant display all the new collectable minifigs inside there without having to choose one to be left out. That's true, but it's not really intended for those anyway. Judging from the cover art, it's meant for the Vintage Minifig Collections, which makes sense because those always come with 5 figs. I'm sure most of the other collectible minifigs wouldn't mind sharing a slot with the cheerleader. LOL, true. The bases in this box look to me to be 6x4 so you could put 2, maybee 3 figs on each base. This suite case to me looks great! Yes, they're 6x4, but each wall almost completely covers up one row of 4 studs, so there's really only space for one fig. Quote
