ciano Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 This is convincing and great, and greatly convincing! Quote
prof1515 Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 this is just fantastic, and you used the title "brawl in nepal" which I've always thought this set should be named exactly. Keep em coming It's funny but when I coined that term to describe such a potential Indy sets, I expected people to say it was a horribly corny title and now it seems to have been embraced, having seen it used several times since. Who'd have thought? I don't usually comment on MOCs but this is an excellent example of how TLG could and should produce this set. You've pretty much duplicated exactly what I felt was needed for a small ($10-$15) set. The only difference I'd make would be using 1x2 jumper plates below the flames instead of 1x1 cones. Nevertheless, very fine work! Quote
Ras 74 Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 A very good one TPRU Don´t have much to add to what the others have already said. It really looks like something that could have been an official set. Quote
prateek Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Nice MOC! This would make for a cool set. I like that hat you made for the thug. Is it a tire over a round brick? Quote
Piranha Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Well I was almost fooled for a minute there You have done a great MOC here Hopefully they will actually make more Indy sets soon Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 I just have to add my own appreciation. In particular I like how you managed to get around what I've always thought to be the main obstacle to an official set of this scene getting done, the seeming lack of obvious action play features. An official set wouldn't be just minifigs and furniture; there would have to be some sort of moving parts (aside from those on the figs) or other functionality. The little "spreading flames" mechanism is great. I think the bar and fireplace are a little more solidly built than we might see in an official set, unless it were a larger, more expensive one than I think the "box art" image suggests. I think this would more likely be a $15 or even $20 set than a $10 or $11 one. But it would still be doable, I think. I just wonder now what TLC will do about this scene if/when they bring back the theme. They undoubtedly would want to do something different from what's been seen in a fan MOC, but they'd also want to take advantage of as many good ideas for play functionality as possible. And you also have the perfect name for it! That so sounds like an official set title. It'd be my first choice (my second would probably be "Misbehavin' in the Raven" )... Quote
CommanderFox Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 A very nice custom set TinyPiesRUs. I think you have captured it very well! I like the bar, and the playability of the fireplace. Very nice job with this! CommanderFox Quote
