Shtick Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 (edited) Hey all. Now I know that others have posted custom Mythbusters minifigs, but I wanted to add my own. I'm a big fan of the show. So without further adieu, here are my figures. The group shot Buster Jamie and Adam Grant, Kari and Tory Jamie reviews the blueprints, while Adam just wants to start building Adam rides his Segway Jamie wants big boom Buster and the ton of bricks Kari and the Diet Coke/Mentos experiment Tory and his bike jump FAIL Grant and his Sword Swinging Robot Sword Swinging Robot close up Why is the Build Team so scared? Oh, that explains it Thanks for looking! I will be creating more props and experiments for them. I'll post more when I can. BRICKSHELF Folder once moderated Edited January 23, 2010 by Shtick Quote
Steel Dragon Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Haha! This made my day, Bucket of Bricks (LEGO pun ) especially! Quote
YG-49 Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 YAY! Buster! *Scrolls down* NO! Busteerrrr!!! I like how you gave the... Not stars ( ) each their own scared face. Also I think Jamie should have a BrickForge beret. Quote
MaxGoof Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Those are AMAZING!!! How much of those minifigs parts--if any--are just regular parts and how many did you customize? Quote
Big Cam Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 So very well done, this is great, I love this show and you nailed the characters faces and outfits to a T. Quote
BlueBard Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Great MFs! The choice of the parts is perfect, especially for Jamie Quote
Commander Flash Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Great recreations! Those myths were fond memories of mine, and each character is very representative of the mythbuster. I just love that Buster Quote
RileyC Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 (edited) I dont usually post her but I saw the title and these are amazing! Every detail on the minifigs are just exceptional! Well done! Edited January 24, 2010 by Roncanator Quote
Shtick Posted January 24, 2010 Author Posted January 24, 2010 Haha! This made my day, Bucket of Bricks (LEGO pun ) especially! Had to do it! Seemed appropriate. I like how you gave the... Not stars ( ) each their own scared face. Also I think Jamie should have a BrickForge beret. It was actually Tory's face that kicked off the idea. Once I saw that in Set 8970-1 Robo Attack, I knew I had to make these. The bonus was that the other two dual-sided faces worked as well as they did. I thought about the BF beret, but I like using the standard parts. Besides, that one is a more military-style beret, while Jamie's is more form fitting. Those are AMAZING!!! How much of those minifigs parts--if any--are just regular parts and how many did you customize? Thank you. The only pure custom piece is the decal on the Mythbusters sign. The Jamie and Adam are regular pieces, just slightly modified. Used Brasso to take off some of the facial hair on each. Same with Buster. Just cleaned off all the printing. The rest are untouched. So very well done, this is great, I love this show and you nailed the characters faces and outfits to a T. Thank you, thank you. Gave me an excuse to watch the show over and over. "Research", of course. Haha, cool! I like your wagon Thanks. Couldn't let that one go unmade. Great MFs! The choice of the parts is perfect, especially for Jamie Yeah, I was pleased at the way he came together, both the white shirt and pull-over versions. Great recreations! Those myths were fond memories of mine, and each character is very representative of the mythbuster. I just love that Buster Oh, Buster looks good now. Just you wait... I dont usually post her but I saw the title and these are amazing! Every detail on the minifigs are just exceptional!Well done Thanks kindly. Quote
samurai-turtle Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Great Job One thing I would do for an upgrade with Kari is give her a umbrella or parasol to use some times (I seen her use one enough on the show to mention it). Kind of funny thing Kari, Grant, and Tory where on "The Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (or what ever it is called) last night. Quote
Inconspicuous Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Awesome job, Shtick. The faces are just perfect, and even though I don't watch the show too much, I was able to instantly recognize them. I love the sword-swinging machine, it's awesome that it actually spins. I think it would be hilarious if you built the Lego ball experiment, with a randomly-colored, not prefect ball. That would be hilarious. Great work! Quote
sebby Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 WOW I think you got these perfect mate. Just looking at these brought back memories of some of the greatest episodes. I think the only thing missing is Adam burning his hair off. Quote
Mraz Skintas Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 These are great. Tory is my favorite, and you nailed him perfectly. The rest are spot on too. The little contraptions you built for the myths are excelent as well. -'Skintas Quote
JCC1004 Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 These are extremely great! They all look like their myth-busting counter parts. Only if Jamie had his glasses. I'd also give Adam his fedora as an alternate. Great job! I might need to buy my own off of Bricklink. Quote
Sisco Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Mmmm... Mythbusters. As a teenage boy, I am just bound to love the show, right? You did a great job on these MFs! My favorite would have to be Adam. The likeness is uncanny! Great job!!! Quote
Ravi Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 These Minifigs are great I like how you also made the scenes my favorite would be Grants robot and the segway. Quote
L-space Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 (edited) Great job, very like the original. Isn't there a crash test dummy in the new collectable minifigs range. edit: Found it here Edited January 24, 2010 by L-space Quote
Rick Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Funny and amazingly accurate and recognizable. Too bad the new mold for the tap piece wouldn't allow you to stick that flame in like that anymore. Open up the tap again TLG! Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 The myth is that you can not make minifig Mythbusters and their tools of madness ! BUSTED 'Shtick' you are a genius and I hope that the folks at MI5 see it. You forgot one punchline .......... WELL THERE"S YOUR PROBLEM !!!! Anyway fantastic work and I can't wait to see what the minifigs get up to, maybe blow up a cement truck or split an arrow ? I'm a conformist! 'Shtick' I'm a conformist! ! Quote

Steel Dragon Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 ...maybe blow up a cement truck ... I second that explosion! But are there any examples of good LEGO cement trucks, official or not? Quote
Shtick Posted January 25, 2010 Author Posted January 25, 2010 OK, now I'm confused. My Brickshelf gallery appears to be empty when I log in, but the photos are still showing here. Any help? I've never used the site before. Quote
Rayman Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) These are by far the best looking plastic mythbusters yet Were any of the heads custom made? They look quite good! Edited January 25, 2010 by Rayman Quote
