So I'm doing something completely new, something I have never done before. I'm building a viper. Since I am a complete Viper n00b I would like your help. I've only build the nose, but I would like to know what you think of my viper so far. Here is a pic:

Your comments and critics are very much appreciated!

looks promissing Bart.

I do think the nose has an air-intake, so I guess it should be open instead of closed.

BTW there are some great MOC's around brickshelf. Just have a look for further inspiration.

Good luck and love to see the result.

Without knowing what a Viper is  , I can say that the color scheme and placement of lime is looking great so far! The greeblies are nce too. Keep it up/

What BSG is your MOC from 1979 or 2004 ?

If it's 1979 - then the colours are all wrong !

Anyway nice work on the nose so far......I'm a conformist! 'Badboytje88' ! :classic:

The color scheme isn't what I would choose if I were trying to make a replica from either the original series or Sy-Fy's BSG. But if you're interested in your own variation, thent that's very cool. Meanwhile, the basic form looks quite good to me. I'm wondering if the sides are getting just a bit to texturally busy with the multiple tiles and wedge plate?

Thanks for the advise, I'll do some research on brickshelf!

I have no idea wat a BSG is... I'm just making this up as I go, so it's definately not a replica. I'm not so into Sy-Fy... But I'm always up for a challenge!

Thanks for your comments guys!

BSG = Battle-Star Galactica (One of the ships on the show was called a Viper.)

It looks good so far, hope to see more of the Viper.

So.... you are building a Viper without knowing what a Viper is?

Tough job :oh:

Well I didn't know what a viper was when I started this project. But wikipedia, brickshelf and flickr have helped me a whole bunch.

Oh, okay :)

Anway, there are two basic designs of a Viper. The 1978 version of Battlestar Galactica and the latest installment from 2002 or so. Already decided which way to go?

I'm going to follow my own inspiration. If I were to create a realistic viper I would need to go to bricklink for some parts (like a star wars cockpit) but in stead I decided to just use the pieces I have in my collection at the moment. So it probably won't end up looking like a viper... But what the heck.

I finished it!

I like it for a first attempt at building a space ship. I'm not sure if I'll ever build one again. It was hard, and not really my piece of cake. It looks very swooshable but isn't swooshable at all. The engines fall off very easily... To bad!

One word - AWESOME !

It totally looks like a space fighter, something like this could have been in SPIII or maybe the rumored BSG movie based on the original late 70's script.

The use of the lime green - adds colour to an otherwise dull fighter !

But one thing, if this is a viper - it's blasters are mounted in the open V section between the wing and body of the craft and inline with the pilot seat, but this is an alright oversight because this is so cool looking !

I'm a conformist! 'Badboytie88' I'm a conformist! !!!!!

I'm not a BSG fan,. so I have no idea what it "should" look like, but yours is awesome. It reminds me of a Jedi Starfighter, except with a bigger nose, aka, probably more power.

I can dig it!

Hello!

Yes, it looks very similar to a Viper model. :classic: Maybe as a successor of current models. I like the choice of colours, and also the dark gray stripe in the wings. Very nicely embedded! Not to mention that I like the trans medium green pieces. :classic:

Cheers,

~ Christopher

That is a great ship, even though I know nothing of BSG. The coloring is great, lime green with grey is a nice hint of color. With the engines, I don't know what it is about them, but they really are good. The small textures are a good part of the MOC. Great job.

:oh: I really like this ship, especially since it's your first. The angled wings look perfect and the lime green looks really good

For someone who was unaware of BSG when you started, you did a fantastic job. Great ship!

I recently discover Battlestar Galactica and I'm now fan of this series.

I really like your viper. It looks like the original one. Good job.

I just prefer the original colours.
