WOW! That was a really great reply you made Legostein

I both like SNOT creations as all stud creations and a mix in between.

But your points is very good indeed.

Hello again, and thank you. I am glad the ideas are of some use. :classic:

Here's another thing that just came to my mind. It's a funny study about grip. I am not sure what this effect is called in english, but I am sure you can remember some movie where someone walks down stairs and suddenly the stairs disappear to give a slippy slope...

First: Stairs with tiles:

Ouch!

Second: Stairs without tiles, but studs instead:

Studs prevent slippery. :classic:

Have a great sunday!

Another great, awesome and funny creation Chris

So genius with the faces too. And Hey! You don´t suck at building in larger scales.

Where did you get that from

Great for once more Legostein!

You should really consider following a lawyer's career. These evidence you're providing are unbeatable and the Court will reach a verdict in favor of the studs for sure.

"I want the truth!"

"You can't handle the truth!"

Hello,

it's again me! Thank you for the comments on my latest ideas, and thank you for the opportunity to do so in this nice topic. :classic:

I feel that I cannot stop yet as long as I have funny (or silly?) ideas.

So, here's a little story about a little yellow fellow...

who forgot to dress in the morning.

But their world is okay again after having put on his studs.

Cheers,

and enjoy your week!

So, does this mean that the first picture contains explicit material?

Great for once more Chris! Vey creative ideas you have there! Keep on studing!

James Bond - A View to a Kill :classic:

The stairs give way to a slippery slope leading out of a hatch at the bottom of the airship - your lego man would fall to his plastic death on the studless stairs!

Great demonstration!

And this is a great thread! I personally like a mixture of studs and tiles.

I like both, the studs up is what I usually use (probably because I don't have many tiles). But SNOT defiantely looks better in some circumstances. Nice models there Legostein, but why are the stairs suddenly closing in?

Funny pictures!

It totally depends on the situation when you prefer tiles or studs. On a lot of places tiles just don't fit while on the other hand some places need tiling to look even better.

The broadside of my ship for example prefers tiles, for the smooth surface and plank structure. Those things add a lot of realism.

Excellent illustration again on how studs can actually aid the shape of objects instead of distracting from it. I especially like how you've used the yellow 1 x 1 round plate in the second picture.

These are some very creative ideas. The staircase one is especially relevant. I think minifigs were never really designed to stand up on their own, and they fall over quite easily on flat surfaces. It might be useful to have some sort of stands for them, similar to what the Toy Story soldiers have but thinner.

They are very useful for keeping bricks together, though. :D

That is very true! If I would remove the tiles from my ship it would fall apart.

Tiles isn't a bad thing to use at all. I think I can't live without them.
