Henri Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 (edited) Hello, My first posting, so I hope you like it. The building you see here was made by people from the Lego Shop in Oberhausen, Germany. I had the chance to buy it at the closing of the LEGO-WORLD event 2009 in Zwolle, Netherlands. Here's how we saw the building at lego-world: And here's how it looks with minifigs: The building has 4 levels and a rooftop, so in total 10 different sections. On the ground floor are a Lego Shop and Starbucks Cafe. The evil looking cowboy and soldier are no threat to the boy who just bought the 10211 Grand Emporium, they're just large Lego Sculptures standing outside as an attraction for the shop :-) The upper levels are for a nightclub and a photostudio. The rooftop is a nice place to relax and bbq. As I stated, this MOC was made by Lego employees from Lego Store in Oberhausen, Germany. The only modifications I made are: 1. the boxes in the lego shop which were random coloured with small stickers, they now are blue with real LEGO-box art. 2. the dancers and NBA players in the nightclub. It costed me some dollars to get those Princess Leia's in bikini. 3. all other townpeople around and in the building. The building is a very nice addition to our Lego Town. By the way, Lego Dogs, DO shit...... I have to say that if not for Jamie Berard and his Modular Houses creations, I would have never gotten into lego-TOWN so much. Thanks Jamie, keep up the great work !! I hope you like the pictures which you can find here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=418465 or a slideshow here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/46889328@N07/...288216492/show/ This building has the first Lego-Store that carries the new modular building "Grand Emporium" set 10211 which is expected to be released in all the other shops by March 2010. Look at those boxes on the corner-shelf. Carpe Lego Henri Edited January 30, 2010 by TheBrickster Quote

Admiral Ron Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 WOW! I really want the stickers with the sets on em! Quote
Henri Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 WOW! I really want the stickers with the sets on em! I took a number of box-arts from google-images and reduced them in size to 0,77 x 1,57 mm. Than I printed it on sticker-paper and put them on the blue tiles. Took me a day, but was fun to do. Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 The building itself is very nice. Great colors and design but the amount of detailed and different scenes built inside is wonderful. The Lego shop with all the sets is really the coolest part. Awesome MOC! Quote
Big Cam Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 OMG, serious, OMG. That is just incredible. The store alone would ahve impressed me, with the little lego sets and it jsut looks so good, but then the stripclub, chapel, rooftop, starbucks, I mean there is just too much. I would love to see this in person but your pictures are great, very bright and clear and it's alot of fun to look at them. Superb work!! Quote

Henri Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 The larger sets like the Grand Emporium, Eiffel Tower could have been printed onto 2 x 2 tiles to better match the real life size. I agree, for some sets, but I didn't have the 2x2's in blue. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 AWESOME - OMG - FANTASTIC ! You even stickers tiles to look like boxes of Lego - excellent ! The nightclub - FUNNY ! The bridal couple - SWEET ! Your entire street scape and buildings - SET A NEW BENCHMARK ! 'Henri' - awesome work - I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Naylus Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Fantastic! This work is indeed really impressive. It looks even better than the up-coming Grand Emporium. Well, I'm not much into modular house, though I do have one, but still I must admit, that such things look very beautiful, and the ones created by fans are even better. I see You used Starbucks Coffee, the emblem I mean. The Lego changed all the signs with Humans to signs with Lego minifigs. Though it would be fun to see the Starbucks Coffee logo with a minifig instead of that lady ;) , but still the building is nice as it is. Quote
Dennimator Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Wow! How much did you pay for it? (Wanna sell it to me? ) Quote
Tri95 Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 One of the best CC-Buildings i have ever seen nice Quote

Sure, I have no patent on the idea of putting stickers on blue tiles to make it look like Lego Boxes, so go ahead. One condition: make sure you upload pictures of your MOC here. Henri Quote

sens1992 Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Ths is a super building! Wow, this is a lot of good ideas combined into one great building. The LEGO store is fantastic. The LEGO boxes (sets) are soo cool. Really like the Starbucks part too. I think that I would finish the day with a cold one at the bar! I have never seen a LEGO exotic club before. I am a member of the LEGO club so I guess I must be a VIP! With that said, your creation is SUPER! Quote
GC8Monkey Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Great modular building. All the details you added are great, especially the tiny lego sets. I think the club being right above the lego store with all those NBA players is hilarious . Talk about diversified buiding usage. A wonderful and unique addition to your town. Quote
