Razgriz Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Hi everyone. I don't spend much time on here (or playing with lego) due to my Dissertation and spending every hour of every day in the Library reading things I don't understand. But today I gave my self the day off to add to my lego creations. A year ago I went to Lego Land Windsor with my g/f, first time I went there and I was gob-smacked, totaly blown off my feet by it all, and it inspired me to get my own lego out. I splashed out on the Lego 4997 Creator set of the Ferry. Great build, all three models are fantastic, but not big enough to accomodate mini-figs sadly :( The hovercraft is the one on the left. I dismantled my Ferry and built the hovercraft, but I made the crew compartment alot bigger, so it could house the driver and navigator. This is the original Hovercraft And here is the bigger cockpit. Also, the top comes off to allow access to the cargo bay. Ramps deploy to allow front/rear entrace. At the moment only small cars can get in, tomorrow I will hopefully be adding a few extra rows to the base, giving it a much higher clearence to allow some of the moden cars in to it. Also thinking of maybe adding a few chairs and tables at the side so passengers can sit down and have some refreshments in transit. I wish I had more lego so I could build the plane/ferry and upgrade them to Mini-fig scale as well. With a little work, all 3 would make brilliant additions to any lego city. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Not bad so far 'Razgriz', I agree it does need a height adjustment. Can't wait to see the end result. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
prateek Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Nice MOD. It looks so natural to the hovercraft. I agree that you should raise it. I can't wait to see how this progresses Quote
Siegfried Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Good job! I considered doing the same to mine but ultimately the low clearance of the cargo deck turned me off. It seemed to me that it'd be easier to start from scratch! I look forward to seeing how this turns out! Quote
dr_spock Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Nice idea and MOD of the set that got me out of the Dark Ages. Quote
Big Cam Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 I really like the improvements. It looks more realistic. Quote
