I was going to make a white fire truck... but realized I did not have enough pieces to build it after I finished the cab. So what was orginally supposed to be a fire truck is now a flat bed. Oh well.

Very nice flat bed 'ImLost', most fire services around the world have a flat bed truck in their fleet, mainly to collect wreckage or a like.

Very well made, nice SNOT treatment to the tray top itself.

Why thumbup you say? The fact that you had a specific plan in your mind but while progressing you realised that you didn't have enough bricks made you create something else is what LEGO is all about:

Creativity!

You didn't give it up, instead you came up with a plan B and I must say, the result ended up being very nice! :classic:

I guess I see things from the positive side.

Hello!

In the city where I live, we have indeed such flatbed fire trucks. There are a number of module containers for different mission profiles. Depending what type of container you need you just load it onto the truck and have a specialized emergency truck. :classic:

Looks very good! I like the front part of this truck. It is something different than the standard TLC front "mask" in most CITY sets.

Do You have some idea how to utilize this flatbed truck in fire dept?

Thanks guys for the comments. This truck has recieved a major overhaul. First, red is now the primary color. And second... its not a flatbed anymore.

I'd have turned one into an engine (taking the compartment doors from your earlier ladder), so that you'd have both and engine and a ladder. Also, the ladder turntable on your newest ladder looks a little too bulky (same problem as with Lego's 7239 set). Nevertheless, I like the cab designs.

Another fantastic fire truck !

Awesome work you have done 'ImLost' !

You fused the best parts of 7239 with the larger truck from 7208 with a little of your own input - excellent !

Thanks for the comments, everyone!

That's a good suggestion Rick. Unfortunately, I only have one of those big compartments at the moment. (I borrowed the one from the previous truck for the new one!) But I plan to get another 7239 Fire Truck and, which will give me an additional compartment. Then, I can turn the new truck into an engine.

Also, you are right, the turntable for the new ladder is bulkly. It's actually exactly the same as the one in the 7239 set, with some minor color changes. But the turnable will be soon be gone once the ladder truck gets converted into an engine.
