AllanSmith Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Modification of 3180. Using original bricks plus 2 extra white mudguards. Cab original. All new chassis. Would look good with a matching trailer Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Very nice MOD 'AllanSmith' ! I like it ! One piece of advice, the gauge would be mounted on a 1x1 headlight brick so it's a bit more inset to the frame work. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Rick Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Nice MOD. I especially like how you've covered the back. Quote
peterab Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Nice Mod Allan, I find it interesting that people dont see the original model as realistic. It's pretty spot on for deliveries to service stations around here. The shorter tankers like your mod are used for aircraft re-fueling at Melbourne airpot though. Do you have these shorter types in New Zealand? What are they used for? Quote
PUCI Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Just looking at your MOD now, it kind of encourage me to buy this set, do the modification and get some extra poarts. so tempting Quote
BlueBard Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Great MOD! I especially like your additions to the back Quote
Big Cam Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Great mod, I actually just looked at a review of 3180 and this looks just like it except smaller and solid. Really nice job. They should make something like this next year. Quote
AllanSmith Posted February 1, 2010 Author Posted February 1, 2010 Do you have these shorter types in New Zealand? What are they used for? The shorter types are used for farm delivery, etc. The larger type for service stations. Quote
Cian Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Done a lot better than my quick hackup to the same length - I'm short the extra wheel arches and had to do some serious thinking to get a chassis that didn't break in half when you moved it! The shorter size is used for anything except main road service areas here, so for a small Lego town its ideal. Quote
lincolnwho Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Modification of 3180. Using original bricks plus 2 extra white mudguards. Cab original. All new chassis. Would look good with a matching trailer This mod is excellent I love the extra details like the back and think it look sjust like the small delivery tankers for heating oil , and derv for farms and stuff , just the job , infacct I can see this running out of a small lego fuel depot now worries , now theres something you dont see in a town layout all that often , the legos must need the stuff , the ratio of vehicles to people in my town is unbelivable Quote
-Jim- Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 a trailer would suit this MOC really well. Quote
sens1992 Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 That is one great MOD. This should be an alternate model at the back of the box of the real set. The rear of the truck looks super! I really like your truck. Quote
