gunm Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Wow...is it really only temporarily sold out? I thought the item was listed as backordered in those situations, and not "Sold Out" as it is currently. Quote
AMuller396 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Wow...is it really only temporarily sold out? I thought the item was listed as backordered in those situations, and not "Sold Out" as it is currently. I hope this is only Temporary. Last Nov/Dec Cafe Corner was also Sold Out for some time but then S@H brought it back. Hopefully they will bring this back even for a few more weeks. IF S@H DOES BRING THIS BACK THOSE WHO HAVEN'T GOTTEN ONE MAKE SURE YOU GET ONE. If S@H doesn't well go hunt for one ASAP. Quote
Danpb Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I picked one up after someone mentioned it was close to being discontinued - it was a bit of a panic purchase. As a kid there were a few sets I couldn't get as they didn't make them anymore...kinda sucked. I can add to the praise of this set - if you can get it, GET. IT. :). I had a great time building this set. Can't wait to tear it down and try a modular build with the pieces :D Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 It's back! Hooray, hooray, calloo, callay, huzzah, hurrah, Green Grocer is back! Quote
FinalFeature Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I would recommend this set to anyone who wants it. The detail is very nice. It also fits in with Lego towns. Like others said once you get this it can be addicting to get more of the modular buildings. So yes, go get one before its sold out and is high in prices. I thought i heard it would be discontinued by spring? Quote
AMuller396 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Ah, now changed to "Call to Check Av Just called S@H Bad news is it is SOLD OUT GOOD NEWS is that it will be available on June 9. So its on back order. SO ITS NOT DISCONTINUED YET! Quote
gunm Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Good news...it should continue to the holidays as earlier reported then! And apologies, my post got cut off...meant to say, "Call to Request Availability"! Quote
GRogall Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 (edited) I didn't think it was sold out, usually the lego the site says Sorry, item is not available in this country: United States. But I'm sure it will be sold out soon! sad but soon. Edited March 30, 2010 by grogall Quote
k_peek_2000 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 (edited) Seeing as they've closed my thread i'll post my the main topic here. I just got paid today and have been on the hunt for GG all day, calling numerous Lego stores that are within a sane driving distance to me house, this is the response I've been getting from each store Lego Store Anaheim: The girl said she "thinks they have been discontinued but check back on Friday." Lego Store Glendale: "They are about to be disconnected, haven't had any in stock for a while." Lego Store Ontario: "Just sold last one today. Good chance it's going to be gone for good soon." Called my Arizona Lego Store. The guy at first said they might have some in stock so he called to see if he could order one for me and this is what he told me soon after. "They have officially discontinued it, It's no longer available" GRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edited March 30, 2010 by k_peek_2000 Quote

jmupton2000 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Well it is still available from the UK S@H at the moment. Just ordered it actually... Quote

Mutie Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 There are still plenty for sale at Toys r us here in Portugal. Quote
craym0nk Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Oh bollocks, I was about to order one of these sets off BrickLink since the Aus S@H prices are so inflated, when I got shipping quotes a few weeks ago in March the avg sale price was about USD$145 and now its jumped up to USD$248 on the back of this news. This is worse than the stock market, I almost rue the day when I found out about BrickLink. #fistshake Quote
Lyle Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Hi, I recently fell in love with that set and, although I' m considering buying it off the Lego website, I've started looking for it in various shops around my workplace (in Luxembourg, near France). Seems no shop has that set or even similar ones (such as the Fire Brigade or the Gran Emporium). Does Lego have a clear policy on what kind of stores it supplies across Europe? Are they only big toy shops or is there any chance I can come across a GG set on some department store shelves? Also, has it been long since Lego started to launch sets that are so difficult to find at retailers? I last bought sets nearly 15 years ago, and as far as I can remember there weren't such "exclusive" sets like nowadays. Quote

Well not sure about Luxembourg, but if you ever get to go over to Germany, Cologne has a Lego brand store and i'm sure you can get it there. But you might want to call them first to make sure Edited April 6, 2010 by grogall Quote
Beej Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Seems no shop has that set or even similar ones (such as the Fire Brigade or the Gran Emporium). Does Lego have a clear policy on what kind of stores it supplies across Europe? Are they only big toy shops or is there any chance I can come across a GG set on some department store shelves? In Australia the bigger and more expensive sets are only brought in in limited quantities and are sold exclusively by one retailer. Recently this has been done with the Emerald Night, Eiffel Tower, MMV, Fire Brigade, etc. It's probably the same in some other countries too. Basically, there's no guarantee you'll see GG in the shops. Quote
Lyle Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Thanks for the replies. I guess I'd rather go online for this one. Quote
beans Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Does anyone know if the Lego store at Bluewater, Kent or any other stores in London have Green Grocer in stock? I'm visiting England in a few weeks and the website has it as In Stock in the UK. If I can pick it up from a store, it might save me some trouble. Quote
wooootles Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 I'm going to Sweet Home Alabama this Friday to see what kind of PaB wall they have. Then I guess I can also report to you if they have some Grocers still on the shelf. Quote
