LegoLyons Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Feeling a little nostalgic, and created another of my favourite childhood TV characters. The Lone Ranger & Tonto. Please let me know what you think. Visit my Flickr page for full size images , please feel free to add notes and comments on there, I love feedback. More TV charcters on their way, soon. Quote
Big Cam Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 I think you nailed both cahraters exactly, the Lone Ranger for sure though, that mask is perfect. Quote
BlueBard Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 (edited) Really nice! I especially like how you've "customized" the horse BTW, may I ask why they called the indian "Tonto" ("idiot" in spanish)? Edited February 2, 2010 by BlueBard Quote
Big Cam Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Really nice! I especially like how you've "customized" the horse BTW, may I ask why they called the indian "Tonto" ("idiot" in spanish)? For real!! It means that. This is from a long time ago (1933), so back then they probably were trying to be deragatory to indians, and they probably did mean to give him an insulting name. I never knew that's what it meant, to me it's just always been an indian name of a TV indian. Google translate come back with Silly, still, I bet it was on purpose. People didn't care back then. Still doesn't take away from these 2 great custom figs! Quote
Hound Knight Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 "A fiery horse with the speed of light, a cloud of dust, and a hearty 'Hi-yo Silver!'" Love it, great likenesses! Quote
samurai-turtle Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Where is Tonto's horse? (I remember him having one.) [starts humming the Lone Ranger tune.] Quote

So, I suppose that's an explanation BTW, I'm linguist and if you want my advice DON'T trust google translator... Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 They look AWESOME - the Lone Ranger himself - perfect, mask and all !!!! Don't forget your silver bullets, never leave home without them ! I'm a conformist! 'LegoLyons' ! Quote
Blackheart Brit Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 These look terrific, nice job, love the Rangers mask. Nightwing, to cool. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Very nice LL. Lone Ranger looks perfect, especially the face. Red-faced Tonto looks good as well. Great little scene with some nice details like the pack on Silver. Quote
Dadster Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Very very cool. As a longtime fan, I think you did a great job with the whole MOC!! Quote
Ratshot Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Your figs are very accurate looking and the packhorse has a nice looking bag. Top work Quote
Deinonychus Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Wow! Eerie. I ran across The Legend of the Lone Ranger on cable last night after not seeing it since I was a kid, and BOOM, this MOC shows up less than 12 hours later. Great work by the way. I think I'll try to cobble together my own Lone Ranger Minifig now. Thanks for the idea. I still need to figure out how to best pull off the Phantom Quote
