echobasehoth Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 simply amazing, Thank for sharing your fantastic pictures. seing mocs like this just makes me want to continue building legos. Quote
SWMAN Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 That is extremely impressive. That is one of the best snowspeeders I have ever seen. I love the amount of detail you put into such a small diorama. Quote
prateek Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Oh my goodness. That's the best minifig scale Snowspeeder and turret I've ever seen Quote
Mac-K Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 This is just a thoroughly great scene. This MOC totally captures the adrenaline of one of my favorite scenes in all of Star Wars and especially in ESB, as the T-47's scream over the trenches filled with Rebel troops, all rushing to the defense of Echo Base. It's so good. I haven't seen many Snowspeeder recreations by fans, but seeing this one makes me wish the new one coming out with the Wampa Cave was just like it, really. Excellent work! Quote
Fumoffu Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Very very nice MOC. I can just imagine being in that Snowspeeder and roaring over the trenches. I like the base too. Nice touches. Quote
Legostein Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Hello! It's a perfect little scene. You can praise every aspect of it. I especially like the snow technique and the traces in the deep snow of the blue-clothed Rebel in particular. Having lots of snow here for several weeks now, a path in the snow exactly looks like you built it with the trans clear plates in between. Very well done! ~ Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
CELESTRIAL Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Oh wow, that's by the best snow speeder MOC i have ever seen. Its so beautiful. The amount of detail and techniques put into this is stunning ! great attention to detail. The base of the scene looks really nice to. I also LOVE the cannon you made, that looks really incredible. Great GREAT work Quote
CommanderFox Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 (edited) Wow! That is one detailed incredibly Awesome MOC! Everything in it is amazing! The base, the snow, the tower ( ) and the T-47 ( )! Well done with this incredible MOC! Looking forward to seeing more MOCs from you! Edit: Can you give me the instructions for the tower? Thanks! CommanderFox Edited February 4, 2010 by CommanderFox Quote
Delta 38 Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 (edited) The base plate and snow are designed perfectly. Nice turret and Snowspeeder, too. EDIT: or would that be a tower? I'd always thought of it as a turret. Edited February 4, 2010 by Delta 38 Quote
Legoman Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Wow thats a real talent you've got there mate. This has to be one of the best Hoth MOC's I've ever seen (for its size) Great creation - well done! Quote
MicroM Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Great MOC. Everything is so well done. Thanks very much for sharing. Quote
marshal_banana Posted February 4, 2010 Author Posted February 4, 2010 (edited) Wow. What a great response on my posting First thanks for putting this on the frontpage, that's an honor. And all the comments and compliments, I'm happy. I can share instructions for the 1.4 FD P-Tower laser cannon, its quite simple. The speeder is complicated. Maybe this will help you out for the moment: Larry's breakdown shot Cheers! Marshal Banana Edited February 4, 2010 by marshal_banana Quote
Marshallmario Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I already posted how amazed I was by your MOC but now seeing the amount of responses to your post...it seems a lot of people would like to have this set sitting on their desk. If say 20 people were to send you $5.00 up front that would come to $100.00. Would that be enough to cover the time and effort required to put together a detailed instructions and a parts list? If this sounds rude, SORRY! I'm just saying if enough people are interested and it sure sounds like it then it would be great for those people and you could make enough to buy some extra Star Wars sets. What if 40 people were interested? Either way, Thanks for showing us your awesome set! Quote
Mark Kelso Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Absolutely wonderful work! Proof for sure that a LEGO MOC doesn't have to be gargantuan to be extraordinary. Brilliant composition, color choices, parts use, and presentation. Couldn't imagine this being done any better. Quote
Palms Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Wow The whole thing is really cool . I forget what the rebels "dish gun" is called but never the less it looks amazing. I always love when MOCs like this have bases and you did a great job on your base. And last but not least the snowspeeder looks...er...well...like a snowspeeder . Anyway great job . Quote
I Scream Clone Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 This is an exceptional piece of work Marshal banana. The snowspeeder though inspired by Larry lars is nicely done, packed full of greebling and working parts and I love the angled work on the front. Building the snowscape onto a greebled base really lifts the whole creation too. Loving the Atgar cannon too, Bravo! Edit: Added and faved! Quote
Kaitan Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 The most classic scene of Star Wars, done the best way I've seen in a long time.Though Kaitan did also do well in his Snowspeeder Crash MOC. Thanks Kim ! I just want to add my praise of this moc to everyone else's. I love it! The snowspeeder is fantastic, the landscaping, the details, everything is great! Vehicles aren't my forte (That's why I crashed thespeeder in my moc ),but seeing your speeder and Larry's I think I might have a go :) Kaitan Quote
Ras 74 Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 This is truley a piece of art marshal banana. Even though you can see that it is indeed inspired from Larry Lars Snowspeeder, you managed to make it your own, and add that little extra to make it absolutley perfect! Like someone else said, it would be awesome to see an instruction of this ship. Or at least a few pictures taken apart some to get the idea of how you managed a few details. Also the Atgar cannon would be nice to see a picture from behind, and see how you attached the slope parts. The trench may be the best one I have ever seen so far. Kind of a simple look to it but yet so detailed and well built. Got to love the SNOTiness of it as well. The base of it all is very nicly done as well with all the greebles. Quote
RileyC Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Wow that is amazing! The snowspeeder is just so perfect and uses lots of great pieces. The snow looks great and I love how you how you have got rocks poking out of the snow. Awesome work and welcome to EB! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 I would love to see some progress shots to some how have a go at making a Snowspeeder as nice as this if you get the chance Marshal. EDIT: I didn't notice the link to Larry Lars Cheers ISC Quote
pedro Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 A superb diorama Marshal. A fine addition to your display I'm sure! Your take on Lars snowspeeder is really nice. Would be great if either of you took ISC's suggestion onboard and shared some of the techniques. Quote
marshal_banana Posted February 7, 2010 Author Posted February 7, 2010 I've got so many requests for the instructions of my Hoth vignette. So here is a "workshop" for a vignette like that. It includes the P-tower laser cannon, the stand and snow techniques. (and yes, there is no snowspeeder, sorry:-) Full instructions on my flickr account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/marshal-banan...57623371149584/ Quote
Ras 74 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Thanks for the awesome instruction pictures you created. I've got so many requests for the instructions of my Hoth vignette. You have to suit yourself when you create such a great model Would love it if you could make a simular of the Snowspeeder as well. That is one beuty hard to do better. Quote
Legoroni Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Oooh! I like. I may have to use some of these techiques. btw, has this been frontpaged (yet)? Quote
RocketClone Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Oooh! I like. I may have to use some of these techiques.btw, has this been frontpaged (yet)? I believe it has. It's probaly gone by now. Anyways i really love this Diorama, ESB was one of my favorite Star Wars film. I love how you did the snow texture and the P-turret(i believe thats what its called) and the re-done Snowspeeder. Quote
