lightningtiger Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 I'm on fire at the moment and it's about one new moc every two days or so and this time............. An ETSA repair truck ! ETSA stands for Electricity Trust Of South Australia, who maintains the sub-stations, interconnectors, grids and of course street lighting ! This is the tool side, the hand tools are stored in the drawers instead of clips ! I SNOTed the cherry pickers arm thought it looked better that way. Two things you can notice, first I have mounted a control panel to operate the cherry picker and second, our sparky is wearing a white construction helmet, just like this ETSA worker does........ What do you think ? Comments are very welcome and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
slacker int Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Nice little truck you have got there lightningtiger! I really like the way 3179 looks in white, and I like your solution for adding the controls to the cherry-picker bucket. (maybe I will add one to mine ) Did you try adding a 4th cupboard or set of drawers on the side with only 1? I think it might look nice. ( I don't know where the barricades would go though...) adam Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 5, 2010 Author Posted February 5, 2010 (edited) Thank you Adam, I might try the idea of yours and add that other cupboard on the side. Most ETSA trucks don't carry barricades, they have a contractor that only delivers them and other warning lights and sign for them, they wait and when the jobs done - they pack them up and go home (or the next job). I guess I could build a ute that just carries these, but I don't know if it should be 4, 5 or 6 wide, these vehicles also carry a trafic warning lights on top too. Any ideas ? I have a bit of bricking block with this one. I'm a conformist! ! Shaun (a.k.a. Lightningtiger) Edited February 5, 2010 by lightningtiger Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 5, 2010 Author Posted February 5, 2010 Okay, so here is what I have done now........... Comments very welcome and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
dr_spock Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I see Shaun has been busy too. Isn't fun to be on a building spree? Nice work on the electric utility truck. Hydro One here uses white trucks too. I think it looks better with cupboards/drawers along the full length of the truck. Trucks here use orange cones instead of barricades. Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 6, 2010 Author Posted February 6, 2010 Thanks 'Dr_Spock' for your comments, I just wonder why Lego didn't bring the 3179 out in white as I think most electricity supply companies use white trucks, although there are a hand few of yellow ones. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
