Welcome to the very first episode of The Brick Broadcast - 'Behind the Helm's parent. No need to ramble on here, go ahead and listen to the interview!

CH: Hello everyone, and welcome to Episode #1 of The Brick Broadcast! I’m Connor Hicks and joining me today is my lovely co-host Izzy Kilmartin. We just wanted to give you a brief introduction to this new show.

IK: The Brick Broadcast is a new initiative from the ‘Behind the Helm’ team. Classic-Pirates.com’s ‘Behind the Helm’ has been a huge success, but as it was originally intended as a LEGO pirates interview show, we couldn’t really stretch out to other themes as much as we would have liked.

CH: So, we decided to start a new all-theme show, The Brick Broadcast. The Brick Broadcast is a radio show put together by those responsible for ‘Behind the Helm’. It will be very similar, except it will cover all themes, not just pirates. It will still include interviews with MOCers and LEGO employees as well as other interesting personalities within the online community.

IK: The Brick Broadcast won’t replace ‘Behind the Helm’, it will exist beside it. We will be aiming for 3 episodes of The Brick Broadcast to 1 episode of ‘Behind the Helm’.

CH: The Brick Broadcast has a specially written theme song by fantastic electronic artist Jason Grimm, known as Grimmy on Eurobricks. His album, ‘The Future Looks Grimm’ can be found online and in some record stores.

IK: We will be setting up an iTunes podcast in the future as soon as we have a few episodes to put on it. So it will be as convenient as plugging your iPod into iTunes and clicking the “Sync” button. But until then, we can be found online at www.thebrickbroadcast.com which is proudly hosted by our producer, Jeff Maltbie, who is known as ‘Commodore Hornbricker’ on Eurobricks and Classic-Pirates.com.

CH: On our site you will be able to find episodes, links, a blog and a mountain of other goodies.

IK: Well that’s all for Episode #1, we hope that you’re a little more informed now, and that you all have as much fun listening to our new show as we are having producing it.

But one thing, the theme song is waaaay too long. I think around 5 seconds would be enough, 10 at the most.

Anyway, keep up the good work!

I subscribe to a handful of Podcasts, and I hope this can be added to that list.

Things that appeal to me personally: a sense of humor, highlighting stuff I might not have thought of otherwise, and a reasonable length... an hour is probably hard to do. Twenty minutes seems worth downloading.

Really, I'd love to see you succeed, and I'll subscribe. I think it'll be a challenge to get it going, so stick to it.

A number of people have requested an iTunes feed via a number of different channels. Just to clarify, we do plan to set one up, but iTunes requires a few eoisodes in the feed to create an iTunes podcast. So I will set one up as soon as we reach 5 episodes.
