legosweden Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 (edited) Hello. I recently bought two lego boats for my kids. They were assembled when i bought them. There were no building instructions or set numbers included. I would like to know if any of you experts can help me with identifying these two boats. Have tried google, peeron and so on but no luck :( The boats have removable cabins where you can put legomen, and also a detailed engine at the bottom of the boat. Rick Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Those surely aren't sets officially released by Lego. They look like fan creations. Quote
Fugazi Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Wow these are huge! They don't look like official sets to me, rather exhibits from a theme park or a LEGO event? Then again, if they're not glued together, possibly a fan MOC. The seller didn't have a clue? Quote

They are not glued together so the stores of the cabin can be disassembled and there are people inside running the boat and managing the engine. Quote
Siegfried Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 They are MOCs. I don't know anything about the seller since i bought them at a local auction. May I ask what you paid? There would be at least 5,000 pieces here, if not 20,000! What are the ship names? Quote

I don't know the ship's names. There were a label on one of them though, saying MS/Kristin. Probably made by the builder. What does MOC mean? Quote
Siegfried Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 What does MOC mean? My Own Creation In other words, someone just made it and it's not a set. Quote
legomaniac83 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Nice ships! What a cool find. A MOC means My Own Creation, meaning its not a set, but a model built with the use of many pieces. Enjoy them. I know I would! Quote
Etzel Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Oh, so you are one of them who was at the auction at Örebro? We had a little discussion about that in our Swedish LEGO forum SweBrick, apperantly it was a compulsory auction so sadly there must have been some poor AFOL (adult fan of lego) that was forced to sell his collection. I think I read that the prices for your ships were 2400 and 700 SEK, is that right? That is a really good deal in that case The person who bought the "rescue boat" put up some pictures too, although it seems he is going to resell it on Tradera (Swedish Ebay). Quote

That's correct, it was an auction in Örebro. It was an impulse buy, since i thout it would give my kids a real building challenge. They will for sure have a lot of fun with the boats. Quote
idesprutan Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 This "rescue boat" is now on Tradera in Sweden. http://www.tradera.com/Unik-raddning-bat-s...ktion_106734650 The boat has alot of nice solution in every plan of the boat. Quote
legosweden Posted February 8, 2010 Author Posted February 8, 2010 A big thank you to everyone at eurobricks for helping me out with this problem! /legosweden Quote
