The Legonater Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) Definitely getting the arena battle, then. I wonder why the Reek and Nexu aren't listed? I know that locale appeared in the series, but this makes me wonder if the game covers the movie, too. OT character? This is interesting. Will the game cover RotS as well? I notice a lot of things we know must be in the game, like the Venator, so I wonder what sources this list is based on. I know Wookieepedia wouldn't list things that they know have to be in there but don't have a source for. If this covers Ep. 2 and Ep. 3, I guess it would be the complete Clone Wars. We've already seen the arena battle in the trailer, in a fairly large format too. And it's confirmed the movie will appear. Like Neyo's said, everything here comes from trailer, and Vader's armour comes from the first picture shown. an't. Finally here are some stuff you might want to read. The story missions will begin with the Battle of Geonosis from Episode II, and include content from the Clone Wars movie, first and second seasons of The Clone Wars, and maybe Episode III. [2] A new feature to be included in the game is player-versus-player combat, where each player will build LEGO bases and defend them. [2] Vehicle levels have been upgraded slightly. Now the player can land their ship and begin fighting on foot. All the original elements seen in the previous Star Wars games will return. There will be 20 story missions and 40 bonus levels. The game is to be considered the most detailed LEGO game ever to be put into production. Details include being well polished, lighting, and shadow effects. The hub for LEGO Star Wars III will be the Star Destroyer Resolute. It is planned to include characters from both series of the Clone Wars, as well as some from the rest of the saga. Maybe EP.3... that's vauge. I'm liking the sound of the player vs. player idea. The upgraded vehicle levels have been known for a while. Only 20 levels? But 40 bonus levels? That sounds awfully like LEGO Indy 2... but the shots we've seen seem to prove otherwise. I guess we'll find out in Febuary. The most detailed game? Sweet! And I like the idea of having the Resolute as the hub, it makes the msot sence. Both series or both seasons? Edited December 5, 2010 by The Legonater Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 avder's armour comes from the first picture shown. Now why didn't I remember that? Quote

Walter Kovacs Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Only 20 levels? LSW I & LSW II had 17 and 18 main game levels, respectively. 20 is an upgrade, as far as I'm concerned. As long as the levels are long and well designed. Quote

As long as the levels are long and well designed. I know, but the fact that this spans 2 seasons as well as peices from the movies makes me suspicous. I mean, one season alone is seven hours, just more than three movies. So if you take more than fourteen hours and compress them into 20 levels... I hope that these bonus levels include the movie peices. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Thanks for the pics. That Venator looks like thet just took the 'normal' model, and Orn Free Ta looks like Thomas Jefferson dipped in blue paint. Quote

But the CW would have more levels. Maybe the bonus levels would include movie levels and more episodes from the CW series. And you ca get OT and PT characters!! Lets just hope. Quote

There are lots of episodes where diplomacy is the center, which doesn't fit in with an action game. Besides, they has to leave some material for LSW IV I'd expect only the biggest story arcs to get their own levels or series of levels. The Malevolence will span a few levels. The Death Watch arc will likely get a level, maybe two. Expect story arcs that spanned several episodes in the show to be compressed into one level in the game. I sincerely hope that the levels are long and well thought out. Some of the levels in HP 1-4 seemed awfully short. Then again, in HP 1-4 there was a lot to do outside of the levels. A lot was hidden in Hogwarts itself. The same concept in LSW III might be nice. Quote

See, that was my favorite about the movie hubs for LI2. Instead of just going to the next level, you actually had to do a few things to get to the level doors. And there were plenty of hidden bonus levels and activites and such around them. Set inside a Venater, this main hub could have the oportunity for a lot of things. It would be sweet if you could unlock a hanger and fly bought starfighters around outside the Venater. Quote

One thing that just occurred to me, if the hub is a VSD bridge, what will be the 'outside'? LSW 1 and 2 were both cantinas, so their 'outside' portions made sense. Or will LSW 3 use another part of the VSD, like a hangar bay? Quote

Personally, I'm hoping that with having the VSD as a hub, this hub will be large with many, many things to find an unlock as you venture through it and the game. Quote

DarthSion Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Got my Aussie lego club mag today, other than the nice free snowman set, it has a comp running in which you can win star wars stuff, it also shows this game and says it has a Feb 11 release date. Quote
The Legonater Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 I was thinking last night. Every game seems to amp up the features of the last one. And this one includes the levelc reator again. I wonder what they will add? The ability to make cutsceanes? Choose background music? Choose better backdrops? Quote

The Legonater Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Here's the same vid on YouTube: Personally this looks incredible. Note that the speeder Anakin's on is the same from the Clone BP. I can't wait to see more of this base-building technique when the game is released. It's very intriguing, and simple at the same time. It's very similar to the level creator, which makes sence since it's generally the same thing. I wonder how the barrack's he mentions will works. I recall a game called Codename Panzers: Phase One where on certain non-campain levels you could 'train' untis in a barracks, which was really basically buying them. Will this be something like that? In general, this is an interesting idea. I wonder if these will be in actual levels- I couldn't tell if this was a real level or a bonus mission. Quote
Oky Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 (edited) M... March? Why do they tease us so? Aside from that, this looks really fun! Can't wait to play! It's strange that the speederbike seems to be the same as the one from 2011 sets, but not the separatist cannon. Edited December 18, 2010 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
DarthSion Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 (edited) Yeah 20 levels sound be good I think, certainly looks epic compared to the other ones, on another site I visit they say its more like an RTS game. Building barracks, commanding armies, sound god damn awesome, lets hope for one they give us some DLC, come on its 2010 give us some DLC, stuff the wii not being able to get DLC just give it to those of us with a real console. Professor Flitwick Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Whoa. The Lego games are changing and changing! Bets on how long that Lego Black Ops becomes reality? Building barracks, commanding armies, sound god damn awesome, lets hope for one they give us some DLC, come on its 2010 give us some DLC, stuff the wii not being able to get DLC just give it to those of us with a real console. What gives with you Sion? Just because there is something out there you don't own doesn't make it inherently bad. And why do want DLC so badly? Not every game has to put it out just because other games do. Or is it just because you could lord it over people who have other consoles? Quote
