commanderneyo Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Yeah 20 levels sound be good I think, certainly looks epic compared to the other ones, on another site I visit they say its more like an RTS game. Building barracks, commanding armies, sound god damn awesome, lets hope for one they give us some DLC, come on its 2010 give us some DLC, stuff the wii not being able to get DLC just give it to those of us with a real console. Would this interest you? http://www.lucasarts.com/games/legostarwarsiii/ The closest you can get to a DLC At the moment Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Wow. I guess I haven't been keeping up with the news for LSW 3 very well, 'cause I've missed all this, aside from the massive ground battles. Barracks, shields, cannon, bases- all built with the studs you earn in-game? Commanding legions of troops? This is like playing Empire at War and BF2 at the same time, only with LEGO! 'Course, as an OT fan, you all know what I want for LSW 4 (or 5, considering they still have three more seasons of CW to do): Massive ground battles with full troop control - on Hoth. Quote
commanderneyo Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 I have managed to grab together a Couple of Screenshots Quote
Oky Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 LSW 4 (or 5, considering they still have three more seasons of CW to do). Three? Is it confirmed there will be a fifth season? Even if so, I don't think they can squeeze three seasons into one game. Then again, there's not much in (the first half of) season 3 they can turn into levels. I have managed to grab together a Couple of Screenshots Thanks, but those are tiny! What good are they gonna do? Quote

Well Sorry to disrupt your thoughts but recent reports have said they are trying to squeeze a bit of Season 3 into the game. (Probably Clone Cadets and ARC Troopers) Yep Sorry I took them off a youtube Video and seeing as I still don't know how to resize something thats the problem but When I get images off brickipedia they will be bigger Quote

I remember Lucas saying he planned over 100 episodes, and with 22 episodes per season he'd have to go to Season 5 at minimum to break 100. LSW 3 has half a movie in it, so I'm sure they can squeeze in another Season in its place. Although I suppose that would depend on how deep the plots run in Seasons 4 and 5. DarthSion Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Why not have some DLC, it makes games more fun and last longer, LBP, MNR, CoD, TFU, fallout, just about all the popular games get DLC. Quote
sok117 Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 I'm super mad that the minifigs in the game have normal-ish eyes, but their real life counterparts look like freaks. Quote

But wouldn't you much rather of had the Broken Steel pack with the game to begin with? Wouldn't you much like to of had Inca, Spain, Babylon and Mongolia on Civilization V from the start? Or have all those cancelled maps in the CoD games actually in the games from the start, as opposed to being sold later for a forth of a games retail price? I just don't get why people want DLC for an unreleased game, when they could be hoping in comes on the actual disc. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Graphics look good I see the C-3PO/B1, so I assume we get the Droid Factory, too. I was actually wondering, how do they plan to introduce the AotC plot to all of this? Do we play all of it or do we watch one long cut scene? Quote

I just don't get why people want DLC for an unreleased game, when they could be hoping in comes on the actual disc. Actually I don't mind paying extra, the problem is the devs are under allot of pressure to get games out on time which is why stuff gets cut, and then they do DLC. Why does it have to be paid anyway, LBP and MNR as well as a few others have done free DLC. Another factor is size, sadly with games like this that are multi-platform are built for one machine than ported, most games are built for the 360 because its very simple to dev for, which is good for the devs, but bad for gamers as they are stuck with with only 8gigs for storage on 360. Brickdoctor Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 We Play [snip] In The First Web Doc at this moment you See Anakin jumping around Battle Droids I know, but I meant does the game cover all of AotC, and if not, I was wondering how they plan to introduce the plot. Quote
commanderneyo Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I know, but I meant does the game cover all of AotC, and if not, I was wondering how they plan to introduce the plot. From what I heard it only covers the Geonosis part. Droid Factory, Arena Battle and Battle Outside the Arena Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 From what I heard it only covers the Geonosis part. Droid Factory, Arena Battle and Battle Outside the Arena Okay, thanks. I was wondering, (in past post) since obviously there are lots of plots and sub-plots surrounding Geonosis, and those are crucial to comprehending the whole point of the battle, how do they plan to introduce the battle? Since we don't play the whole episode, do we watch a cutscene? Or is there one really long opening crawl? Quote
Oky Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I bet it will be a crawl summing up the events of AotC and then a small cutscene leading up to the first battle. They don't need to retell the whole story again. However, I can't see how they're gonna transition from the end of AotC to Ambush. Could it be that these AotC levels are bonus levels? Quote

Well they never really transitioned between movies for LSW1, 2, and IJ, I suppose they'll treat it the same. It actually occured to me, since AotC is included, which Phase 1 clone will they use? The AotC or CW one? And if they use AotC, that'll have to be an unlockable character, which brings up the question, do we get to choose which troops deply from our barracks? As in, could I deploy legions of ARF troopers, or am I stuck with a default legion? Could I deploy droidekas? And what do we do with unlocked vehicles (if any)? Can I use an AAT as a Jedi? Quote
The Legonater Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 However, I can't see how they're gonna transition from the end of AotC to Ambush. Could it be that these AotC levels are bonus levels? I've been asking myself that for a while. Personally transitions will be strange in general- I mean, there's several, several different planets in the series. But as soon as the 20 levels came up, I suspcted any movie parts would be bonus levels. However, we heard earlier that we'd start the game off in AotC. Perhaps they're officially bonus levels, but not really, or something else. Either way, it'll be interetsing to see. What bugs me is that the new date is March. They've been moving this date down a lot now. And last time we had a pretty solid date, not just a month- a date. What difference will this make anyways? It's not like you can do a whole lot in a month. Quote

There were a few different type's of Clones Available in the New Clip so I assume we can Command ARF's They will be CW in AOTC as this is from the Battle Of Geonosis What bugs me is that the new date is March. Brickdoctor Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 They will be CW in AOTC as this is from the Battle Of Geonosis [snip] Darn. I was hoping I could unlock AOTC clones and use them instead of CW ones in the CW levels. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 I see they've integrated LEGO into the arena beasts- that'll be the way to destroy them, I assume. I also see the map fir the battlefield- that's a nice touch, too. Quote

The Legonater Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Is that a lego Indiana Jones whip pully? on that beast. Yeah, but I think that's a new grapple ability or something mentioned before. Good news! I was in HMV today, and noticed int he game section a pre-order box for LSW 3 with a date of Febuary 13th on it! Quote
