rupi Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Hi, I would like to show you my latest car MOC. It's a classic 1930s race car vaguely inspired in Alfa Romeu 8C Monza. As special features it has steering (not really but the wheels do turn) and some sort of suspension It is a small MOC, but it was fun and challenging to build. I hope you like it. Brickshelf folder or Flickr Thanks for looking. Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 One word - COOL ! What a beautiful and simple MOC - I can see the lines of an 1930's Alfa that's for sure. Does this have independent suspension on it - especially the way the car can be tilted/rocked ? Odd footnote - some Alfas were put in storage during WWII so after the war they had car's to race again. I'm a conformist! 'Rupi' I'm a conformist! ! Quote

'Rupi' really I'm a conformist! ! Quote
BlueBard Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Really nice! The work with that suspension and the scene for the photo are wonderful Quote
Rick Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I already came across this little gem on Brickshelf this morning. I really like that you've managed to include so much functionality in a minifig scale vehicle and still maintain this little red racer's good looks. And really nicely photographed as well. Look for a blog on Classic-Town.net this evening (in Europe at least ) Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Very nice Rupi. In fact, I love your classic vehicles. That working suspension piques my curiosity. Great job and nice photography! Quote
WhiteFang Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Rupi, great racer creation! Love the suspension look when he made that daring turn in high speed, in that nice photo illustration of yours! Look for a blog on Classic-Town.net this evening (in Europe at least ) I was about to blog it, and realised you have done it! Good job! Quote
Bobskink Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Very nice. Any plans to make others? I would love to see an old Lotus. Quote
Toa_Of_Justice Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 (edited) That is an awesome race car, rupi! Can I download your model in a virtual format (e.g., LDD or LDRAW)? If not, is it OK if I make a virtual version of your race car and upload it to Brickshelf and/or the design byME gallery? Or would you rather do that yourself? If you let me do it for you, I will promise to give you credit in both the file name and the description. If you don't want me to upload your model anywhere, may I please just re-create a copy of your car in LDD and/or MLCAD for myself? -Toa Of Justice Edited February 9, 2010 by Toa_Of_Justice Quote
Grimmy Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 What a cool slick racing car! The minifig looks at home in it. I like his gritty fast dangerous look and expression. :grinn: Quote
Thee Pirate Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 That car freakin rocks! That is a very creative way to have a positionable suspension in a minifig scale car. I've come up with a few solutions but none that can be used in a car that stripped down. You're a genius. Quote
prateek Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Wow! I like how it's in minifig scale. I know it's really hard to do that since the car is so small. I love the suspension and steering you made too Quote

-Jim- Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Thats damn nice car. Love the simplicity of your suspension design and the use of the various face to capture the mood in the photos. I think I will make my own version using your ideas. Jim. Quote
CommanderFox Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Great job on this Extremely Awesome MOC rupi I really like the Black and White shots, make it look even cooler! The suspension is a nice feature. Overall, the design is really nice, with a good colour scheme to go along with it. Well done! CommanderFox Quote
ImLost Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Wow, I never thought a suspension system would even be possible on such a small vehicle. Beautiful work! Quote
RoscoPC Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Well done Rupi: nice looking MOC and a clever idea for the "suspensions". Quote

Thank you very much, rupi! I'll be sure to let you know if I get confused with the building anywhere. When I finish the model, is it OK if I upload it to Brickshelf and/or LEGO's design byME gallery? Or shall I just give you the model (i.e., attach it to a post or PM) to upload yourself? -Toa Of Justice Quote
Ras 74 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 An awesome racecar rupi! I really like all types of cars from the 30´s. The suspension is really well done and also that it is possible to pose the car in different angles. Quote
rupi Posted February 14, 2010 Author Posted February 14, 2010 Toa of Justice made a digital version of my MOC. Thank's Here's the link. Quote
