Badsneaker Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 While trying different corner MOC's this building started looking more and more like a Chinese restaurant. Hats off to the Creator Family Home for all the tan!! Here is version 2: And finally version 3: All 3 have removable roof and floor. Thanks for looking and thanks for all the great inspiration I get from seeing everyone else's MOC's here. Comment, criticism, and feedback always welcome! Quote
prateek Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 NO criticism I can think of right now, it's just all praise. I love how you made the roof look Oriental yet modern enough to fit in to a regular street Quote
GC8Monkey Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Wow! A very unique buiding. I would have to say I like the third one the most. The black windows on the second floor work much better than the white ones. Also the roof is perfect for the Chinese restaurant theme. I would like to say though that I prefer the planters on the second version the most. It looks great with your other modular buildings and the alley is a nice touch. I hope you add an interior. Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Cool modular build 'Badsneaker' very cool indeed ! Are you going to put in an interior ? I do like the roof, very oriental ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
booga-b Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 very cool building, should incorporate a dirty kitchen. Quote
Shadows Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Looks good! I planned a Chinese restaurant in the pre-modular days but went with a dark red motif. As a result, it's still just digital and has never been properly built. You took a completely different approach and I must say it looks great. very cool building, should incorporate a dirty kitchen. Was that really necessary? Quote
Rick Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Nice modular building! I especially like the roof design. But agreed... modulars really need interiors these days Quote

And again, awesome awesome building! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 This is a really great creation Badsneaker I am loving the flower beds and awnings on the ground floor. The top floor whilst beautifully designed feels a little bit too high to me in the final version. I feel the previous versions with the white and red lines break up the upper floor nicely and would be my preference. Great job once again. Quote
Holodoc Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Very well done, Badsneaker! I love the way you built the house like a tower, meaning that the attachments to the sides are a bit lower than the main building. If I had to choose my favourite it would be no.2, but with black windows. I like the use of the golden dishes and the two red flags. The smaller mosaic (1x1 tiles) on the ground is better than the 2x2 tiles' one. The tree at the edge of the third version is a nice touch though. The best of all: It does fit in very well with all the other buildings. Btw.: For a better comparison it would have been nice if you had placed the three versions next to each other. Now please add the interior. Quote
Badsneaker Posted February 10, 2010 Author Posted February 10, 2010 Thanks for everyones comments. The 3 pictured here have been sold on eBay to fund other LEGO purchases so I obviously cannot do any interiors. I think I will do a final version to keep for my city and take all of your suggestions in the final version! The final version will have an interior. Quote
BlueBard Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Great job! Even if the interior's empty the exterior design is wonderful, especially the tiled sidewalks and of course the roof Quote
tedbeard Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I especially like that it is a corner module with a straight corner. Not curved or angled but a nice 90 degree corner. Quote

Badsneaker Posted February 10, 2010 Author Posted February 10, 2010 How much did you get for the set on ebay? $290, $395, and $278. All 3 starting bids of $199.95. 3 day auction. Doesn't include eBay and Paypal fees. For me, its a good way to stay in the hobby without going broke if you don't have indispensable income. Quote
Night City Dream Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Very nice building, reminds me of my happy time spent in China. Quote
