I think he just uploaded the wrong pic X-D

i read an interesting article somewhere about price disparity between countries -- how prices in the US are sometimes quite a bit lower than other places (such as around europe) even though Lego is the "starbucks" of toys). do you guys find this to be the case? but then it seems great sets (like the latest castle line) comes out in europe before the US. like someone in the forums alreayd said, people always seem to dump that stuff on ebay, which tends to reflect the true market price...

They seem about the price that Bricklink want or a little lower, but I'll wait and see how high they go. To be honest i couldn't spend $100 on such a small set unless I was very rich.

Yeah, I wonder who the winning bidders are and what they do for a living. One guy from Germany who bought a medium size MISB space set from me for around $200 was an architect.

this one is "cute":

clickey

"die Katz ist nicht dabei, hat auch nie mitgespielt, war nur neugierig"

means something like "no cat included, it also never played with the bricks, it has just been curious"

well, 6011 has a unique part, the light gray chest not found on any other set. hence the high price. any rare and unusual part will naturally command a high price.

see those samurai mf packs?

You could have got one on bricklink recently from an exceptionally reputable seller for about $450.

Yeah you're not joking. ALL of the star wars lego sets double or over half the price in england than they are in america.

Not really a crazy ebay find but a truly rare one. Check this out. A real find *wub* .

Yeah I love those store displays.

Effective too because they always inspire me to spedn large amounts of money!

The old LEGO catalogues (pre '99) were good at that

I've always wondered what happens to store displays at Target and ToysRus and such. I always think man, they better not throw those away or something :'-( I'd pay something for them, even if they are riddled in hot glue :-$ Does anyone know from any experience or actually asking? :-$

Well Bricklink has a whole section for retail displays, but most are very expensive. This is the first one i have seen on ebay (well star wars that is :-D ).

I've seen quite a few over the years but I do spend a large amount of time on there!

for all you LEGO Ninja/Samurai enthusiasts, either bid on this

Sealed LEGO 6013 Samurai Swordsman

or pay less for buy-it-now, *wacko*

Cheaper Sealed LEGO 6013 Samurai Swordsman

Every once in a while, I manage to hit the local TRU at the same time a Lego rep is there and I've talked to him about them. As far as he knows, they are just sent back to a warehouse (can't remember where...) and stored. Seems odd, but that's what he stated when pulling out the Vikings set-up and hooking up the new (then) Undersea set display. They're not for me as the glue is too globby for my tastes - plus, I couldn't take them apart and redo!

I scored a Deep Freeze Defender and extra 1990s sets for $25 shipped. Of course, the DFD might need some Bricklink parts order rehabilitation 8-| . I could use your help, however, identifying the little white rover in the upper right photo. Looks like Futuron, maybe?

I'd say it's a moc. There were a lot of grey "moon buggies" in the classic space theme.

anyway: my first ebay deal: 6973 Deep Freeze Defender, 8856 Whirlwind Rescue and 6984 Galactic Mediator for 21€...!

(no instructions though... I just thought I've topped you but that bubble bursted...)
