That's the feedback the seller left for the buyer. The seller's feedback is 100% with no negatives.
Starwars4J Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Ah, I never saw that side of the feedback pages, where you could view all the feedback someone leaves for someone else. Sorry :-$
jamtf Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 The end of the saga is that the set went to Belgium since the seller offered it with a $800.00 buy it now option to the underbidder with the alias bajo-ve. This is a lot indeed, but seriously the set including the box is unharmed and in pristine shape. There is none available on BL at the moment and this set was last offered in 1987 I think after a 3 years production run. It will get older and rarer for sure, since each MISB being opened is one less in existance. Perhaps another one will turn up sooner or later in just as good condition. Oh well, on to the next! P.S. I agree that this Asian NPB is a genuine dick head. *skull*
gylman Posted October 18, 2006 Author Posted October 18, 2006 The MISB castle lego price insanity continues. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...11606&rd=1&rd=1 I bought this set MISB for $110 just a couple of months ago.
Hobbes Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Want a MISB 6081? Or a MISB 6086 maybe? BIN only, that's your chance! *wacko*
snefroe Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Want a MISB 6081?Or a MISB 6086 maybe? BIN only, that's your chance! *wacko* i'm going to assume that this is some kind of mistake
Hobbes Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 i'm going to assume that this is some kind of mistake I don't think so, I'm afraid. Germans are very aware of what these sets are worth, and they try. He might not sell it now, but maybe one day someone drunk/high enough will come along...

He might not sell it now, but maybe one day someone drunk/high enough will come along... the highest price i've ever seen any one paying for any old set was 1500 dollars for a new Galaxy Explorer. i'd be very surprised if this 6081 could be sold for 1200... you're better off buying on bl...
snefroe Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 well, if we are talking about expensive castle sets, I wonder how high this one will go...
gylman Posted November 9, 2006 Author Posted November 9, 2006 prediction: 200$ +/- prediction: 200$ +/- for the yellow castle which is opened, but looks to be perfect condition. 6080 incomplete with no box..... 50 bucks maybe.

gylman Posted November 9, 2006 Author Posted November 9, 2006 Well, I could be wrong, but I have seen sets with boxes and instructions, not quite as good as this one admittedly, typically go for 125 - 150. I wouldn't pay more than 200$ for it for sure, but sometimes those crazy Korean bidders go to prices that I would never imagine. They usually only bid on MISB sets, and the gap between MISB and non-MISB, especially for such rare sets, is huge. Let's see how it goes..... I'm curious too. It is not my impression that non-MISB sets go up in value near Xmas.
snefroe Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 well, if we are talking about expensive castle sets, I wonder how high this one will go... hm... only 130euro...g... that's as high as a regular ISD in Belgium... not pretty much, if you're asking me... damn! maybe I should have placed a bid :-X
gylman Posted November 22, 2006 Author Posted November 22, 2006 not a bad guess on my part... about 170$ US.
snefroe Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 not a bad guess on my part... about 170$ US. true... *sweet* it seems to me that non-MISB sets, even the popular ones, like yellow castle, are less expensive these days than a year or more ago... not so long ago i saw a Galaxy Explorer with the box for only 50 euro on ebay; a space monorail for the same price...

It could be... the AFOLs willing to buy that stuff would have been kids 20-30 years ago, who buy it for nostalgia. That pool of people should slowly be dwindling, as they get older and drift into other interests. There will always be that hard core that drives up the costs for true collectors' items like MISBs. Also, though, this is not a good time of year to try to sell non-MISB sets because people can't realyl give those as presents, and there is a call for the money elsewhere. Too early to make any generalizations...
Hobbes Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 There will always be that hard core that drives up the costs for true collectors' items like MISBs. Tell me about it... I wanted to bid on this... :'-( Also, though, this is not a good time of year to try to sell non-MISB sets because people can't realyl give those as presents, and there is a call for the money elsewhere. I've been watching a few 8868s on ebay Germany since I now have three and plan on selling two of them. Wanted to see for how much they sell. Surprisingly there were lots of them, mostly without box but at least instructions. Average price was around 40-50 Euros only, though. Which surprised me cos I've seen them go for a lot more. I suppose it's the missing box and that there were so many (still 17 auctions currently)...
snefroe Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 800 euro! outch... i'm aware of the fact that the old trains are really, really popular, but g... btw, this went for 100 euro; MISB; last week that one went for about 45... :-X
gylman Posted November 23, 2006 Author Posted November 23, 2006 800 euro! outch... i'm aware of the fact that the old trains are really, really popular, but g...btw, this went for 100 euro; MISB; last week that one went for about 45... :-X I was interested in that old hospital set myself, but the price was insane. Even a 5 minifig set, 6301 also 6302, by the same seller, went for insane prices (60-80 Euro!). Crazy. But it shows that MISBs retain their value very nicely for now. http://cgi.ebay.com/80-LEGO-6301-OLD-TOWN-...1QQcmdZViewItem This seller has wonderful old stuff.
