Hobbes Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Ah, OK, thx, that explains it then... still, a nice line...
gylman Posted December 19, 2006 Author Posted December 19, 2006 It's not SOOOO extraodinary, but I've never seen this set so expensive before. An example of Pre-Xmas madness. http://cgi.ebay.com/LEGO-Pirates-Islanders...1QQcmdZViewItem Even on bricklink the new sets don't go above $120, and usually BL is much more expensive than eBay This one too, is overpriced like crazy http://cgi.ebay.com/LEGO-Pirates-6279-SKUL...1QQcmdZViewItem

Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 NIB on an old set like that may be nice, but honestly, kinda useless to me... ... I wanna play with my LEGOs, not put 'em on a shelf :P
Hobbes Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Woah almost 1000 $ !!!! Jesus, that must be a new record for that set... I know it's sought after but this is *wacko* And look at what he sells: More vintage stuff. If these go like the shuttle he'll make a fortune... Fitting this crazyness, I found this yesterday - not even MISB *wacko*
simonwillems Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Jesus, that must be a new record for that set... I know it's sought after but this is *wacko* A quick Bricklink search shows that 1000 dollars for that set is not even close to what this Korean chap asks... Set 6399
Hobbes Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 A quick Bricklink search shows that 1000 dollars for that set is not even close to what this Korean chap asks... Sometimes I think these high BL prices are just used by people who want to show off their collection...
SupaaSayajin Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Hehe yeah and prolyl some are of people that actually want to keep the sets and only might sell for such a high price. This orsche guy will have way more cool old sets up he sent me a list of allhis sets, around 500 misb sets o0 crazy... And wtf??? A used house 260$ ???? *wacko* damn some people sure have too much money and too hard nostalgia feelings *sweet*
SupaaSayajin Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 510$ for black castle: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...em=170073857029
Hobbes Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 510$ for black castle: Not only this, all of his sets sold for quite a bit... a certain "coolshapiro" spent quite some money on 'em... This one I was able to get for a mere 30-something Euro, also MISB *wacko*
Hobbes Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Anybody needing "a few minifigs"? 1232 to be precise? ;-)
snefroe Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Anybody needing "a few minifigs"? 1232 to be precise? ;-) 606 euro?! are you kidding me? g...
Norro Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 606 euro?! are you kidding me? g... I don't think this one is so outlandish, from what I sw of the pics a lot of these figs were from the 90s and the BL average price per fig is well over 50c. But a better mass discount probably should have applied.... God Bless, Nathan
SupaaSayajin Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 370 Euro for Dacta people omg http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...em=190073870392 Forest men Lego Fortress for 260$ http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...em=220061706455 Space Dacta for 500 Euro http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...em=170060921023
simonwillems Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Isn't that one of our very own Eurobricks members buying the forestman-crossing for that substantial amount of money?
jamtf Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Apparently someone bothered to check my biddings and eBay winnings over the last couple weeks / months! And yes, I happen to be a Eurobricks member! Some of these sets are hard to acquire in untouched condition though and they get older and rarer as I speak. At least I am happy with my purchases!
Norro Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 6071 is a great set in all fairness. One of the best ever made (in my humble opinion ;-) ). I recently got one MIB for $75 and was very pleased. But given its rarity I can see how a MISB one would fetch much more... God Bless, Nathan

Hehe, i checked your history of biddings, because you always bid so much on sets you want to have for real ;) And then I wanted to know what other sets you found on ebay, which I might have not found, or where I bid to less to win it hehe ^^

No offense there, it just caught my eye. That forestman-crossing is a great set and I am sure it feels great having it in your collection. :-)

I check out biddings by other members all the time just to find out what's there, what has been sold and etc. except I do not share that knowledge with others. And yes, I bid fairly high or extremely high if I want something badly. Last couple days, I did not have that much success since I got outbid numerous times... must have been sets that I did not need that much. For me, classic sets are always worth a little more. New sets fresh from the store are sometimes quite expensive too. What seems expensive today might be priceless in 10 years from now. No offense there, it just caught my eye. That forestman-crossing is a great set and I am sure it feels great having it in your collection. :-) It is a great set and a US only so for us Europeans it is a treasure to own. :'-) Besides, that, I have 2 more used copies in great shape with their original boxes so the sealed one stays that way.
