Ratshot Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Iginla made all the difference... Not just on the occasion, but throughout the tournament. Definitely my favourite current hockey player, now that Joe Sakic has hung up his skates. I would have loved to see him win one more gold medal though Iginla makes a huge difference when hes on the ice, he gets in the corners, checks and skates hard, fights when he has to, scores lots of goals and creats lots of good plays. We would have lost if it weren't for him. Quote
MetroiD Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Sakic wouldn't have made the team. Canada is too good for him now. He got replaced by Neidermayer. What are you talking about!? Niedermayer is a Defender, how could he ever replace a Forward? If you mean as a Team Captain, of course Niedermayer got the C after Sakic retired - it was either going to be him or Pronger and let's face it, Chris is not precisely captain material. As to whether Joe would have made the team, I'm sure he'd have played his heart out to be there - the reason that he could not actually do that was why he quit, so hats off to the man. We would have lost if it weren't for him. Very true, Iggy's contribution to his team is always huge. I wish the Rangers had traded him for Zherdev while the Russian was still considered a future star... That's at least ONE veteran that would have been useful for the club, unlike all the Shanahans, Averys, Prospals and other underachieving big earners. Quote
