Posted February 14, 201015 yr Hello everybody! Today I'd like to share two new additions to my Battlestar Galactic mini line with you. As you all might new, there are two series around these days: the classic series from the 1970s and the reimagined series from the 2000s. Personally I like the classic series much better, but some designs of the reimagined series are also notable. -------------------- Let's start with the new reimagined series. Whereas the Cylon Base Star in the classic series was pentagonal, the new Cylon Base Star from the reimagined series is more triangular. But shapes are difficult to design, but an unusual choice of parts now also allowed for the construction of the pseudo-triangular shape of the new Base Star. It uses modified 1x2 plates with an angular extension and flexible Light tip and swivel hinge plates for stabilization. See all images and building instructions here: Cylon Base Star on BrickShelf -------------------- Now let's continue with the classic series. Originally I thought that I already had built all Cylon vehicles from the classic series. This was probably true, but when I watched one of the movies recently I noticed again that strange yellow/golden Cylon Raider. These are probably graphic errors while copying more ships into the swuadron. But nonetheless it looks different. So here it is the "Golden" Cylon Raider. See all images and building instructions here: "Golden" Cylon Raider on BrickShelf -------------------- All 24 Battlestar Galactica models can be seen on BrickShelf. -------------------- Thanks for your time and interest! Have a great sunday! Cheers, ~ Christopher
February 14, 201015 yr great job again Legostein. These parts seem to be made for it. Now I defenitely have to watch "The Plan" tonight.
February 14, 201015 yr Very nice Legostein. As a huge fan of the 70s/80s Battlestar Galactica, I love seeing a LEGO version of the Cylon Raider, and your details are quite nice. That's a very clever use of the red ruby pieces. I hope you don't mind, but I've taken some photo editing liberty and placed this image on the front page. Nice!

Here is my Agrar-Ship (Valley Forge, Silent Running): More And my Battlestar: More Greetings Grüße nach Deutschland :)
February 14, 201015 yr Lovely minis. If my BSG mafia ever starts, can i use your RDM galactica minis please?
February 14, 201015 yr Author Hello, and thank you everyone for the nice comments! I am glad that here are some more Battlestar Galactica fans! The image you created, Brickster, is once again fabulous! Thank you for the extra effort and highlighting it! Have fun, L-Space with the movie tonight. Carsten, of course I am familiar with your medium models. They are among the first Galactica models on BrickShelf. What is a BSG mafia, simonjedi? As long as it's nothing commercial, and as long as credit is given, you're free to use those models for personal use. Cheers, ~ Christopher
February 15, 201015 yr Great MINIs Legostein! Im not a big fan of battle star galactic, but these do look good! I like the second one the most, nicely built. Nice job! CommanderFox
February 15, 201015 yr Out side of Star Wars - Battlestar is my favorite sci-fi program of all time ! The raider is nice, but the base star is a little off the beam ! Cylon raiders are based on early human fighter craft, yeah I know my battlestar history ! At least with a yellow raider Starbuck or Boomer can hit it easily with laser torpedos - so kick those turbos ! And watch out for those Cylon pinwheel attacks ! I'm a conformist! !
February 15, 201015 yr Nice ! The new Base Star looks perhaps one plate too tall for my liking, but otherwise the models are spot on - I particularly love your mini colonial viper and both old and new Cylon raiders ! Given that you've pretty much nailed Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica, which other sci-fi themes have you worked on or do you have planned ? I'd love to see Thunderbirds, Space 1999 and Star Trek ! Dr. D.
February 15, 201015 yr Author Hello, and thanks again for the comments all of you! which other sci-fi themes have you worked on or do you have planned ? I'd love to see Thunderbirds, Space 1999 and Star Trek ! You're welcome to have a look at my humble homepage. You'll find besides Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica: Star Trek, Space Odyssey, Stargate, and various miscellaneous movies. Cheers, ~ Christopher
February 16, 201015 yr Nice site Legostein. I like the neat and organized look, and enjoy looking at your various models.
February 19, 201015 yr What is a BSG mafia, simonjedi? As long as it's nothing commercial, and as long as credit is given, you're free to use those models for personal use. Cheers, ~ Christopher Mafia is a forum game (its played on eurobricks) there are two teams (scum and townies) who have to kill each other to win. I'm making one based on battlestar galactica (scum are cylons, townies are colonials) I was planning to give you credit and the models will only be on eurobricks anyway. I would also love to see some Babylon 5 minis
