Posted February 15, 201015 yr Spotted these while at Toys R Us today. I picked up the Iron Man Mark IV set, will shoot a review shortly.
February 15, 201015 yr So much for the hopes of a Lego Iron Man theme. I didn't care for the Halo sets, but this, this makes me a bit angry. Oh well, nothing we can do, I guess. Looking forward to your review though.
February 15, 201015 yr I don't get it, both the set with Iron Man and the set with War Machine are called Aerial Attack, just with different set numbers? Huh? And are the figures on bungee cords so you can shoot them across the room? I don't even understand what's going on, these seem really lame…
February 15, 201015 yr It appears that this is MB's new stategy- find as much pop culture stuff as possible and get a license on it.

After it expires I'm sure it'll fall under the Disney/Marvel license that LEGO has now, unless Disney is treating the property as a separate entity. Like how Disney also owns Saban and the Power Rangers, but Bandai makes the Power Rangers figures where Mattel produces other Disney figures. Licensing is all very confusing But yeah, I'd love me some Iron Man LEGO sets

Then again, it's be a small theme with not many figs or scenes if you ask me.
February 16, 201015 yr I agree, after seeing that excellent Iron Man Fig from ebay, a hope for an Iron man theme was an actuallity. Then again, it's be a small theme with not many figs or scenes if you ask me. What made you think Lego was ever going to make Iron Man? Its not really one of the most successful or interesting Super Hero movies... Parts of the movie take place in Afghanistan with Taliban soldiers shooting at the suit, Did you really think Lego would make those Minifigs? Other parts of the movie are just in the city, Like his Car collection or his flying over US Airspace e.t.c. Not very interesting sets. And if Lego were going to do Iron Man, They would obviously pick up the movie license which has no real profit for Lego. Because if they chose the Comic license, Lego would have to either spend a few years reading through all the Iron Man comics or spend a week with some Die hard Iron Man fans.
February 16, 201015 yr Have some Mega Bloks Iron Man 2 toy Fair images! I really like the figures with the armors. Whiplash, not so much. Just reminds me how silly I thought all the Pirates of the Caribbean figures were. Between these and the Halo SPARTANs, Mega Bloks should just stick to figures of characters who wear full-body armored suits
February 17, 201015 yr Mega Blok is really heating up with all these licensed themes. Not a fan of Iron Man so it doesn't bother me.
February 17, 201015 yr I wonder how can you activate FLYING ACTION! As one of the clever man said: First recognize your foe! So I Waiting for review!
February 17, 201015 yr Mega Blok is really heating up with all these licensed themes. Not a fan of Iron Man so it doesn't bother me. Yeah I'm glad Mega Bloks are snapping up the Themes. If Lego can't be bothered to get off there butts and make a Theme everyone likes instead of these stupid "World Racers" (Mix of Agents and Racers) then Mega Bloks should be allowed to make some awesome sets that you can use to integrate Lego people into (The Halo Pelican Drop ship, It looks awesome). I wish Lego was more like a Friend to us rather than a Democracy. We have to have a Ambassador just to talk to them, We can't just post our ideas, We actually have to have specific threads and specific people to post our votes on Themes, That never get read. ("What do you want in 2010 Pirates?" Legos response "We are canceling Pirates after 1 year."...) I back Mega Bloks in the Licensed race!
February 17, 201015 yr I think these superhero themes goe well with the body construction of the curent Mega Block minifigures. I'm a big Spiderman fan and I must say that the Mega Block Spiderman is way better than the Lego version. But in general I still prefer a Lego minifig, and this Spiderman set was and will be the only Mega Block set I buy. If you're a fan of Iron Man and you want something blocky, buy the Minimate version.
February 19, 201015 yr I have to say that these two sets look pretty lame... I really wish that lego had done a theme dedicated to Iron Man this year, but maybe they will next year.... CommanderFox Edited February 19, 201015 yr by CommanderFox
February 19, 201015 yr Mega has been doing Iron Man since movie 1 guys. The new version of Super-Tech using the joint system pioneered in their Neo-Shifters line was used for large figures of Iron Man, Wolverine and Spiderman last year. The 3 year lawsuit between Mega and the Rosen Brothers (who owned Rose Arts) is finally over and Mega Bloks is back in the black after 3 years of severe financial hardship. This should be an interesting year of competing themes.

To be honest these figs totally kill all my interest in the sets :/ The fun thing about licenses is to have minifigs of these famous characters. Now imagine if the Darth Vader minifig was just a small action figure... that would suck. If I wanted action figures I would just go... and buy action figures...
February 20, 201015 yr To be honest these figs totally kill all my interest in the sets :/ The fun thing about licenses is to have minifigs of these famous characters. Now imagine if the Darth Vader minifig was just a small action figure... that would suck. If I wanted action figures I would just go... and buy action figures... I understand you. The problem is that fully articulated minifigs like MB and Minimates make can be shaped to fit into an activity in your MOC scene, but the smallest element in the Lego building system is a 1x1 plate, and you can't build minifig scale devices with 1x1 plates. Its truely a shame that Lego modulex, Mega Blok Nano, don't integrate into their parent bricks. You could build controls inside an aircraft MOC or appliances in an office or kitchen. Anyone know if Diablok Nano (Best known for awesome models of the IJN navy of WW2 in Nano scale) integrates with the standard Diablok brick?
February 20, 201015 yr It appears that this is MB's new stategy- find as much pop culture stuff as possible and get a license on it. Ben 10? Avatar? Spongebob? Galidor? Speed Racer? Star Wars? Lego is guilty of it too. Mega Bloks probably has the Marvel license up to a certain point. After it expires I'm sure it'll fall under the Disney/Marvel license that LEGO has now, unless Disney is treating the property as a separate entity. Lego doesn't have a Marvel license and Marvel and Disney are two separate entities despite Marvel being owned by Disney. -Omi
February 27, 201015 yr Ok, those just look ridiculus. Idont feel lego have much of a competition if MB keep spewing crappy sets like these. The figs are rubbish, the sets are simple and uninspired and to be honest, Iron man should be kept to figures ( of the large variety) as thetre are no famous locations or veicles. Why does he drive a car or boat whean he can freaking fly?
February 27, 201015 yr Why does he drive a car or boat whean he can freaking fly? Because he has class. Would you rather fly in your suit, run out of fuel and crash and die miserably? Or would you drive around, run out of fuel, pull over, get out and refuel?
March 10, 201015 yr I have to say that these two sets look pretty lame... I really wish that lego had done a theme dedicated to Iron Man this year, but maybe they will next year.... CommanderFox I know they look like flying action figures... sad.... Anyways, I have to admit, LEGO should make LEGO Iron Man.. Maybe for the third...

For example, LEGO has a license for Price Of Persia, Toy Story and Cars but Mega Bloks still has a license for Micky's Clubhouse (as Duplo-esque sets) and possibly for Disney Princess and others.
