hawkyboy4 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 On purcahsing 5 Toy Story Army men sets, I realised that to make them fit my LEGO city, they would need yellow heads and hands. This raised the problem of what to use the green hands and heads. My solution was for the Zombie characters. For every soldier, there is an evil, brain-loving fellow who would love nothing better than to rip you apart. Please post if any more ideas come alng, like a tree :) (wtf?) (I have a feeling this topic will be moved) Quote
Big Cam Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 If you think it's going to be moved, why did you post it here in the first place I would have put it in the Licensed forum since it's a licensed theme set. Anyway, I think zombies are the obvious answer, I also saw a MOC where a person got slimed from the ghostbusters ghost, also I think Seigrfire used the standing plates as lilly pads. I still haent opened my 3 sets yet so I haven't had a chance to play with them much. Quote
Siegfried Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Loads of stuff; for example green gloves for gardeners! Anyway, I think zombies are the obvious answer, I also saw a MOC where a person got slimed from the ghostbusters ghost, also I think Seigrfire used the standing plates as lilly pads. That would be Svelte. If you think it's going to be moved, why did you post it here in the first place I would have put it in the Licensed forum since it's a licensed theme set. Yeah, I agree... and I'll be moving this! Quote
def Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I think Seigrfire used the standing plates as lilly pads. Svelte? I think they were in his lovely pirate ship MOC. They could be used in a MOC where all life was frozen in place, and they became one with the vegetation. It's a longshot, but you can put that as #101. I liked my set, but I'd gotten really excited about it by the preview pics, and didn't enjoy it as much as I expected to. Quote

Well as said before, green hands can be used as gloves/mittens in many contexts, especially winter scenes/snow sports. I'm sure they can also be used very effectively to MOC some different plant types. As for the green heads, you can use them as alien heads, but if you're building City then just turn them around and use them as watermelons in a green grocer stand! Quote
CMP Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 You could use the guys themselves in a museum as mannequins or something. If not, then I believe zombies and gloves have been said. Quote

CMP Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 And the hands as other vegetables... True, the set comes with 8, and if you have 5, that's 40 hands! A whole fridge full of asparagu... Quote
Mace Windu Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 How about halloween decorations or costumes. Quote
Shadows Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 They're still holding their value, despite being so easily obtained now. Look here! Things to do with them... You could swap out the hands on Killer Croc to finally make him right, and you'd be keeping them in the Licensed family at the same time. You could also use them as thorns on a vine, though I'm not a huge fan of minifig body parts being used that way. Oh, or you could use them with a plain green torso to create a solid green minifig for your monochrome minifig collection. You don't have a monochrome minifig collection? Weirdo... Last but not least, you could send me a pair to replace the ones I stole from Green Goblin to make my solid green minifig. It's funny, actually, outside of one SPIII set, green hands have only appeared in Licensed sets: Toy Story, Spiderman and Star Wars have all had a green handed character (yes, there are 2 variations of Green Goblin and 2 different army men, but you get what I mean). Cecilie Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Oh, now I want some green army men! Other idea for the head: seasick dude on a ship Or radioactive people perhaps? They are usually green in cartoons Quote
74louloute Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 (edited) I saw helmet use as turtle by Schlimps: But I guess you wold like to keep helmets on your figs... I agree on what they said before: you can use the hands as vegetable, even try to make a new technique for grass... I hope you will show us what you find ! Svelte Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 The green stand piece is a favourite of mine, and actually pretty cheap on Bricklink. http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID...4&colorID=6 I bought a heap with the idea of using layers of the pieces as foliage in a tree, but I haven't got round to that yet Quote
Athos Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 It'd be fun if everyone posted a picture of their idea, so we'd have 101 pictures of different uses... Like the last two posts did. I think the witch is funny. Steve Quote
Big Cam Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 "I'm melting!" Haha, I love it, that's a perfect use!! Quote
YG-49 Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 Jasbrick once again fails to disappoint... Quote
prateek Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Intracately trimmed garden hedges! That would be creepy with faces in them though I really like that witch Quote
badboytje88 Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 "I'm melting!" That's just down right awesome! Quote
Oky Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Some great suggestions so far! I'm loving that Oz scene too! Here are some of my ideas: Incredible Hulk fig If you turn the heads upside down and stick one of the hands into it, it looks like an apple. The downside is that it's hard for a minifig to hold. If you clip the hands onto a stick, you can make a thorny plant. Poison Ivy henchmen or other plant people. Mandrake figs for Harry Potter (see below). Might be a bit too big though. I'll post again if I have more ideas. Quote

user Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I smell a good contest idea... Really? I tasted it more than I could smell it. Anyway. You could use the heads as frankenstien's monster, You could use the flatfeet as armor on a green mech, You could use the green parts as seaweed men for atlantis, aliens for SP3, Orcs for castle, or you could use them for mutants or diseased people? That's all I've got for now I'll share more ideas after I come up with more. Quote
The Legonater Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I'm using my rifles as camaflauged snipers. Quote
Huntleyfx Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Hmm, I'm liking the watermelons idea, perhaps you could use the monochrome figures as some sort of topiary in a formal garden setting? Quote
