Badsneaker Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 (edited) After purchasing the extremely tiny Apple Tree house and being as disappointed as I expected I would be, I bit the bullet and bought another. So my 10 yr old daughter and I combined both sets and came up with this New England style cape. We used probably a few dozen of our own pieces too. If this post needs to be moved to another location since its a Creator item, please do so. She hasn't done much with the inside yet, but I did notice a squatter sleeping in the garage! We also installed a light brick in the fireplace. Edited February 19, 2010 by Badsneaker Quote
Rick Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Nice MOC. I think the official model will look kind of cute next to its bigger predecessors. Quote
The Player Nº1 Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 The changes are awesome! Congratulations! Regards Quote
BlueBard Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Wonderful MOD, indeed! Very "New England" feeling on it Quote
Zorbas Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Great work Badsneaker! Your MOC looks very beautiful and I like the way you've added the red "stripes" on the roof. Red and dark blue look great together. Quote
Badsneaker Posted February 19, 2010 Author Posted February 19, 2010 Thanks- If you could get a similiar model for about $60 (Family Home price) I think it would be a good deal. I really do like the dark blue roof pieces. Maybe those drive the price up on this set. I mean, its 539 pieces for $45 in the U.S. The 6754 Family Home is 976 pieces and its $60. Another 400 pieces for only $15 more. Where is the price discrepancy coming from I wonder? Quote

I've checked both sets' inventories and although that there is a number of 1x1 tiles in 6754 that boosts up the piece count, 400 pieces less for a $15 price difference is noticeable. Dark blue is dark gold I guess. Quote
Loganwan Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Your new design is great. I think with the larger scale, it would fit in much better with the Family Home that is so hugely out of scale for the rest of the houses on the street. Now you are going to have to go back and double all of your other houses too. :) Nice biuld. Quote
Thee Pirate Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 That is a very beautiful MOD. I have one copy of that set, but I think you talked me into getting another set or two. Compliments on a job well done Quote
wooootles Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Nice, Very nice. Awesomely suburban. I was thinking of buying 2 of these and doing something like that as I did with Family Home x2, but those weird green baseplates is holding me back Quote
prateek Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 This is really nice. It's one of the best houses I've seen in a long time. Great job Quote
Badsneaker Posted February 19, 2010 Author Posted February 19, 2010 Thanks everyone- I also don't like the bright green baseplates-too bright. Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 The word is COOL ! Beautiful MOC 'Badsneaker' ! Love it that is more like a real house and even with an interior (can we get more interior shots if theres any please), it was worth buying two thats for sure ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
booga-b Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 very nice mash up! Are u gonna add more to the interior or leave it as it is? The exterior is quite stunning, nice addition! Quote

Notorious Guf Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Hey, great design. I bought 2 of these sets a while back and hadn't yet decided whether to open them. I was thinking of combining them together as you have, so you just gave me the inspiration to do it. Thanks. Quote
