rew12 Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Does anyone know if they'll have the license when the final trilogy is made? Which episode are you thinking about? New mini models aren't sure. Lego released them for three years, and they stopped in 2005. Clone Wars sets should be interesting, too. Quote
snefroe Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 hm... i guess this is good news for sw fans, but it basically rules out any space theme... for another 5-6 years... let's just hope it's not an excuse to create yet another x-wing, snowspeeder or slave every two years... Quote
KimT Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Nuts! Now I'm really going to be broke for another 5 years....Just as I could see an end to collecting all SW sets...So be it. My guess is that LEGO will mainly do SW classic and sets for the new series. Not any more Ep I-VI. KimT Quote
hewkii9 Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Hopefully there will be a few Extended Universe sets, perhaps the Lady Luck and Wild Karrde ships, a Myrkr and Honoghr sets, and a few new figs, like Mara Jade Skywalker, Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Admiral Pellaeon. Also, there might be a Super Star Destroyer sculpture. Quote
mutley777 Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 i personaly see the line being split into 2 main category's, star wars saga (the films) and then EU (clone wars and the new tv show) Quote
Dragon King Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 "Under the agreement, the LEGO Group will continue its construction toy rights to the entire Star Wars galaxy, including an all new Star Wars animated television series currently in development." Sorry to burst your bubble but i think this indicates a new animated series not clone wars. :( Quote
sam89 Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 But I think the animated series (computer-animated) will be set during the Clone Wars. Quote
Starwars4J Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 But I think the animated series (computer-animated) will be set during the Clone Wars. Exactly. The animated series takes place during the clone wars (think another season), and the live-action show takes place inbetween episodes III and IV Quote
Dragon King Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Well i am sorry. :$ :( Sounds awsome still. But wait what could the new serius be about. I mean General Greivous just captured the Chanceller. What happens in the couple of hours between that episode and episode 3? *wacko* Quote

Well, they can do side-stories too, it doesn't all have to be about the main characters  Quote
masterchief5611 Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 We finally get to see a cartoon version of grievous or a LEGO made Durge? YAY! :-D Quote
Mithrandir Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 I am disappointed. Very. I guess we can look forward to 20 more different X-Wings/TIE Fighters/A-Wings/ISD's/etc over the next few years. Whoop-de-doo. And of course, because they're doing StarWars, they can't do any REAL space sets. I was SOOO looking forward to new original space sets in 2007. *sigh* Quote

Kikuichimonji Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Ow, c'mon, I'm already running out of shelf space...and money  Quote

I agree, Star Wars is what re-kindled my interest in Lego. I have really enjoyed collecting the sets, and I don't want to see it go away anytime soon. Plus, if I remember correctly Classic Space wasn't exactly flourishing before Star Wars. Like you said, the NASA sets were kind of a flop, and the stuff before that.... Life on Mars? Bleah!!! Space really hasn't had anything going for it since the Blacktron/Space Police days, in my opinion. If they do ever go back to original Space stuff, it'll be a whooooole lot better thanks to all the pieces and building techniques they developed with Star Wars. Quote

Ever heard of supply and demand. Fans were DEMANDING more starwars sets, and now they are SUPPLYING. This will make more money for TLC. You have to look at it from a business person's perception. Starwars4J Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Anyway, Star Wars has definitely kept Lego alive and thriving these past few years, and I've seen them innovate more with designs and building techniques than I have in past memory! Star Wars is definitely a great asset to Lego (not just because of my name ), I think their classic space lines were running...rather dry anyway. Maybe they'll be able to be more creative and have a space line at the same time in a few years (although not likely) No, Shut Up, God! ;)    :ninja:          I thought EB was set so people couldn't post unregistered?
