Forresto Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Kuroneko a really well made Japanese horror movie from 1968. Not that terrifying but really enjoyable. Quote
x105Black Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Today, I unfortunately watched a movie called Taking 5. Sometimes I hate my job. Quote
samurai-turtle Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 LEGO Super Heroes: Justice League - Gotham City Breakout I don't know if it is because I watched a lot of these movies. But parts comes off a little cliched (mostly the characters). Plus the DVD didn't have much bonus stuff. (I don't know if it's because "they" are pushing more towards "Blue Ray", like everyone else.) But you would think it would be more than one trailer for the bonus stuff. (It might of been two trailers but not anymore than that. ) Quote
x105Black Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 I watched Loser with Jason Biggs. It was OK. Quote
Captain Britain Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 I somehow ended up watching Bridget Jones's Baby.... ...actually really enjoyed it save me. Quote
Forresto Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Melancholia....wow. That may be the single most depressing film ever made in the history of cinema. Excellently done, possibly one of the best films of this century in some regards but my oh my if you suffer depression especially from watching sad films I don't advise watching it. Quote
ZootyCutie Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Saw the Yo-Kai Watch Movie in theaters for one of those Fathom Events. Had tons of fun with it...but did NOT expect my brother to be enjoying it as much as he did. XD Quote
Kakureon Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Inferno, not the best of the trilogy but still good. Quote
x105Black Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 I just watched The 'Burbs. That's a fantastic movie. Absolutely hilarious. Quote
PicnicBasketSam Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 The Hidden Fortress- my first Kurosawa. You can definitely see the influence on Star Wars, but I thought it was a bit too slow-paced and lengthy. House of Flying Daggers- Absolutely beautiful martial arts/romance in medieval China. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows- Better than the first, but still not that great. Goldfinger- quintessential Bond movie, the bit with the lady painted gold didn't make much sense at all. Signs- Suitably scary, but I stopped taking the film seriously after it was revealed that the aliens were allergic to water. Quote
RetroInferno Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Since the beginning of october I'm on a Hammer Films - Peter Cushing marathon. Perks of having an acute bronchitis I guess. - The curse of Frankenstein - The revenge of Frankenstein - The dog of baskerville - The Mummy - Horror Express - The Skull I also stumbled on an horrifying japenese movie called Sweet Home, which I ended up liking very much Quote
xboxtravis7992 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 The last Harry Potter film. First time I have watched it in a few years. Quote
Vindicare Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 The last three Harry Potter movies, over the last couple of days. Never will get tired of those movies Quote

It's not a bad flick. Quote
Forresto Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Empire of the Sun- Great movie and one of Christian Bale's first films. It's funny but I like to imagine him as a kid having a freakout like he did to the reporters on the set of Terminator Salvation. Porco Rosso- One of the lesser known Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli films. Excellent as all of Miyazaki's films are. Even in a film where his protagonist is a piggish womanizer, and a tad sexist, he still manages to portray strong female characters. This is one of his strengths as a storyteller to have such dynamic characters in each of his movies that really shines. Nausicca and the Valley of the Wing- Incredible movie. Miyazaki's first major film and all this time later still shines brilliantly. Quote
x105Black Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 I just watched I Love You To Death with Kevin Kline, Tracey Ullman, and many others. It was a very good dark comedy. Quote
dr_spock Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Nightmare before Christmas. The boogie man seems like he was in a recent summer movie. Quote
Forresto Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Independence Day Resurgence: Despite the bad reviews actually not that horrible of a movie. Very entertaining. Of course nowhere near the quality of the original classic. I would go into this not expecting much and without too serious an attitude about it. Only half of one of the cities is destroyed and of course I live is in the half that's destroyed 13 hours ago, dr_spock said: Nightmare before Christmas. greg3 Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 "Robot Overlords" a 2014 Independent British Sci-Fi movie starring Ben Kingsley and Gillian Anderson. Got fairly average reviews and pretty much went straight to DVD but I thought it was OK (one review described as a sweary episode of Doctor Who!!) The best thing about it though was that part of it was filmed at the end of my street!!! So weird to see giant CGI killer robot spider things crawling over the roof of a nearby hotel!! Quote
x105Black Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 I saw a movie called Wishful Thinking. Not too bad. Quote
Umbra-Manis Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Finally saw X-Men apocalypse. Quicksilver was awesome, but botched origins and such kind of drove me crazy. Quote
x105Black Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Today I watched My Girl and My Girl 2. I prefer the first one, but the second one has a bit more mystery and less tragedy. Both are good films. Quote
Artanis I Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Ghostbusters (the new one). It was concurrently so bad & good that it was average in the end, which is too bad, because no one cares about average films. A lot of the jokes did nothing for me, but some made me laugh. I didn't think the originals were amazing movies either (but very cool premise). I did watch the cartoons back in the 80s, I liked the one based on the earlier TV show (Filmation) more than the one based on the movies (Real) though. I thought he looked a bit "borrowed", but then that ghost resemblance isn't original to Ghostbusters anyway. Very popular example would be the other ghosts from this franchise: Quote
