hollisbrick Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Rush Hour 3. It was pretty good. not as funny as the last to but still a good watch 3 and a half stars Quote
Zarkan Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 A couple days ago I watched the first of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy - the Fellowship of the Ring. I think the Return of the King is my favorite of the three, but I still love all of them, of course. Yesterday I started watching The Two Towers, and I'll be finishing it today. Before that, I watched a great war movie called Flyboys. Not the best on character development, but the dogfighting scenes made up for it - and yes, there were a lot of them. Plus, the movie actually had a decent love story as a side plot - I guess it helped that this movie was based on a true story. Quote
Tarfful Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 I just saw Sweeney Todd, a great movie if not a little too bloody. -Tarfful Quote
LuxorV Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 I recently re-watched the X-men trilogy, and the first 2 Spider-man (I still have to get n° 3 ). Now I'm waiting for Iron Man (2 weeks to go). LuxorV Quote
Zarkan Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Today I went to see the new documentary Expelled: No Inteligence Allowed. ... Yeah, I know what you're thinking. After all, Hollywood absolutely despises it, and it is a biased film. But seriously, the word "bias" doesn't necessarily mean that you are discriminating against a viewpoint or select group of people - it can just mean that you favor one viewpoint over the other. Besides, it's nearly impossible to do a documentary on or write something about a political issue without having some tendancy towards one side. The difference between Expelled and the Holllywood-lauded Michael Moore Crapumentarys is that it comes to a conclusion based solely on historical facts and the words straight from interviewed scientists, not baseless speculation. Anyway, I enjoyed it, and while I don't expect many here to even consider going, it is really interesting and well written. Quote
Batbrick Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 I watched Serenity again after having another Firefly marathon. Great movie, great series, I'll get killed for this but I think they're better than starwars! Batbrick Away! (Fast! Those SW fans are chasing you!) Quote
Island boy Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 I think it was Lord of the Rings the two towers Quote

Lord Thrawn Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Saw Iron Man tonight. Best superhero movie ever. It was just... brilliant. Great blend and balance of action, serious acting (which was very good) and comedy. The actors chosen did an amazing job. Quote

Great blend and balance of action, serious acting (which was very good) and comedy. The actors chosen did an amazing job. Amen!! I totally agree, I just came from the cinema and I must say Marvel did a flawless job on this one. Can't wait for the two sequels. Quote
JoeMI6 Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 I saw Iron Man with LordT. Damn awesome. Ditto on what he said, the actors did a great job, there was no BS (unless you're talking training exercises here ;-)). It was just fantastic! I recommend it to all. Quote
SirNadroj Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 I, too, saw Iron Man. It was OK. I hate CGI in general, but I think they did a good job with it and the organic/costume stuff was fantastic. Also, stay till the end of the credits. There's an extra clip. Quote
Jipay Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Thanks for the tip, I'm going tomorrow ! I saw 27 robes, taken, oxofrd crimes. Quote

Scouty Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Sleuth What an incredibly odd film, yet also a bit entertaining. There's a good number of plot twists that are really unexpected. The end trails off into a bit of madness, though. It was weird. I'd recommend it (mind that it has vulgar words) if you've got nothing to do Quote
Batbrick Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 The Green Mile, a simply beautiful film, the end literally had me at tears when he was to be killed by the electric chair: "Don't put that thing on me! It's dark, I'm afraid of the dark!" Batbrick Away! Quote

It was on the other night on normal TV The Green Mile, a simply beautiful film, the end literally had me at tears when he was to be killed by the electric chair: "Don't put that thing on me!
