June 16, 200618 yr Just saw Cars and I LOVED it *wub* At first I was really disappointed by the opening mini movie but then the main feature appeared and I laughed sooo much for nearly 2 hours !! I love the storyline, and there is great acting involved, especially Paul Newman and Owen Wilson 8-
June 19, 200618 yr Wolf. The final fight and some photage was flimsy, but it was quite realistic in reactions when someone slowly becomes a werewolf. Jack Nicholsson. *y*
June 19, 200618 yr I just saw Ultraviolet and was really disappointed by it !! The trailer is wayyyy better than the movie !! What caracterises this movie is Too Much (of everything !!) Oh well at least we see Mila in real sexy outfits !! oh boy, she is hot !! *yoda*
June 19, 200618 yr I saw the Omen today. Wasn't scared at all, but the whole anti-christ thing appealed to me for some strange reason. Thinking that he might be real gives me the creeps. Not an excellent movie, rather a decent one. Acting was average, the protagonist was good along with the little kid's smile, but that was it. Go see it if you are into that kind of stuff, oh and bring a girl with you too for the spooky scenes ;-)
June 24, 200618 yr Just saw Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Great movie, the digital animation is just incredible.
July 7, 200618 yr I saw Monthy Python's The Meaning of Life last week. I was on holiday so I drank quite a bit, which made the movie very enjoyable ;-)
July 7, 200618 yr I saw Monthy Python's The Meaning of Life last week. I was on holiday so I drank quite a bit, which made the movie very enjoyable ;-) Hmmm yes, that movie is very...........interesting. I saw Superman returns in an Imax theater with a 6-story screen in a mall near me in the USA. It had selected scenes in 3D and every single seat for every single showtime for the whole day in that HUGE theater was sold out out by noon. Oh, and while I was at that mall I also visited their...............................LEGO STORE!!! AND BOUGHT A DURMSTRANG SHIP 60% OFF!!! (I guess they're making room for the massive load of new summer sets that just came out) Along with the Chewy magnet set!!! Oh, and the Superman movie was good *y* Batman begins was better though.
July 8, 200618 yr I saw SR. What can I say but: meh, I have seen better. What is SR? Is that the actual name of the movie, or an abbreviation?
July 10, 200618 yr I saw SR. What can I say but: meh, I have seen better. What is SR? Is that the actual name of the movie, or an abbreviation? I am almost 99% sure it is an abbreviation for "Superman Returns"
July 10, 200618 yr Governor Is it just me or are ambiguous abbreviations like that reeeeeeally annoying?
July 10, 200618 yr Is it just me or are ambiguous abbreviations like that reeeeeeally annoying? Well, if you paid attention to the discussion it wouldn't be that ambiguous ;-) In general: yeah, they are annoying. It's an american thing, though, so what can you expect considering the way they "handle" their language...
July 11, 200618 yr Governor Dear Hobbes, kindly direct me to which part of this discussion I haven't been paying attention to which has confirmed whether or not SR stands for "Superman Returns". And why am I the first to declare Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest as the last movie I watched?
July 11, 200618 yr Dear Hobbes, kindly direct me to which part of this discussion I haven't been paying attention to which has confirmed whether or not SR stands for "Superman Returns". There is no part saying "SR stands for Superman Returns". Firstly, it's become sort of usual to refer to movie titles just by the first letters of each word in the title. That's what I meant with "it's an american thing". Secondly if there's a discussion about a movie title called "Superman Returns" and suddenly somebody uses the TLA (Two Letter Abbreviation in that casae) "SR" it's 100 % safe to assume they mean said movie title. Don't be so nit-picking all the time, it's annoying. EOS - End Of "Subdiscussion". And why am I the first to declare Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest as the last movie I watched? Probably because you are the first on EB to have seen it :-P How was it?
July 11, 200618 yr Well, I just watched Dead man's Chest. I liked it fine. It was entertaining, and could have been really good, if it had a plot. :-| I think the were cramming in too much, and didn't explain things enough. I didn't like it nearly as much as the first.
July 11, 200618 yr Governor There is no part saying "SR stands for Superman Returns". Exactly Firstly, it's become sort of usual to refer to movie titles just by the first letters of each word in the title. That's what I meant with "it's an american thing". Secondly if there's a discussion about a movie title called "Superman Returns" and suddenly somebody uses the TLA (Two Letter Abbreviation in that casae) "SR" it's 100 % safe to assume they mean said movie title.Don't be so nit-picking all the time, it's annoying. And when was the last time I was nit-picking? I'm not nit-picking in this instance because I need clarification to understand exactly which movie was being referenced. Superman Returns hasn't reached cult status nor has been heralded as a classic to earn an abbreviation status that everyone instantly recognises. Abbreviating the title to "SR" was never part of the marketing campaign, like abbreviating Mission Impossible 3 to MI:3. I do not presume anything because assumption is the mother of all (Damn! Can't write that word here), and the majority of people assume things every day causing them to live in an inaccurately precieved reality without realising it. I wasn't the first in this thread to ask what SR stands for so obviously its not clear to everyone. I've just come from another thread where SR has been used as an abbreviation so if I want clarification on what SR actually stands for in this thread I'll damn well ask! I don't like to assume, I perfer ascertain the facts. So hows that for nit-picking! :-D Probably because you are the first on EB to have seen it :-P How was it? Anyway... Despite its length it was like watching half a movie... It might be like Martix: Reloaded and Revolutions - they worked so much better watching them back to back. Now dear Hobbes, tell us which movie you saw last?
July 12, 200618 yr So hows that for nit-picking! :-D Perfect, as usual. Just a note: MI:3 was the official movie title, SR is an abbreviation used by the internet-/message board community. Now dear Hobbes, tell us which movie you saw last? None really. I'm catching up with my TV series at the moment, so that I'm uptodate when all the new seasons start in fall... autumn, sorry...
July 12, 200618 yr I just saw Slevin (aka Lucky number Slevin) which is a beautifull tale about revenge orchestrated by a brilliant cast composed of Josh Hartnett, Bruce Willis, Luci Liu, Morgan Freeman and Sir Ben Kingsley !! If you haven't seen this, run till its playing ;-) EDIT: I just saw Superman Returns and I have to say that I was impressed by the movie !! You can clearly see the Singer touch ;-) I never liked the character of Kent/Superman but Singer did a more intimist movie than I thought he would (hence why the critics are not that great IMO) !! I was expecting only a CGI movie. He really did focus on the characters adding loads of humourus scenes (like the dog eat dog one :-D ). The cast is great and the storyline is quite nice as well !! The ending kind of surprised me ;-) *yoda*
July 14, 200618 yr I just watched 2001: A Space Odessy... and I'm somewhat inspired for a space MOC, and also very confused! *wacko*
July 14, 200618 yr The last movie i watched was Pirates of the Caribbean 2:Dead Man's Chest.I watched it yesterday at the cinema. SPOILER WARNING I think it was pretty funny when Davy Jones played the organ with his tentacle beard :-P SPOILER WARNING
July 14, 200618 yr Just got back from seeing Superman Returns, gotta say it was far better than i ever expected and it rates up there with the best comic films.
July 15, 200618 yr I just saw Dead Man's chest myself... No way should it be continued into a third film, it is just going to be more of the same unless they introduce some new villains or something. The final few moments I was expecting but it was still a bit too silly :-D Ah wellsies, it was good, went on too long though, yet also too rushed with a confusing plot, but never mind, the effects and stuff were brilliant, as were the fight scenes.
July 15, 200618 yr Pirates of the Caribbean 2... I swear to you its the gorsses movie I've ever seeen. Everything was dirt, dirt and more dirt, and... Why are gross things glorified? why can't this be a normal movie with monsters and pirates and why are the gross things necessary? WHY! It was a lot better than the first one in my opinion...
