Leo604 Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra. It was lame. Hopefully the sequel will be better. Quote
Daenerys Targaryen Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Went to see The Hobbit again today. Tomorrow I'll be watching Taken 2 'unrated version' on dvd! Egerly awaiting this to come out on March 22nd: Quote
Zeya Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 We saw "Wreck-It Ralph" and it was great. Family friendly too, for those of you with kids. If you've played video games at any point in the past 40 years, you'll especially love this movie. John Lasseter is the executive producer, and since moving to Disney proper, he's really continued to bring quality to the movies he works on (Princess and the Frog was another Disney/Lasseter film that was good). BlueberryWaffles Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Frankenweenie. I loved it. Usually animation isn't my thing, but I liked this one alot. ( But I think the original, live-action one on the bonus features was better. If you've seen the film, make sure to see that version also.) Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 The Dark Knight a couple of days ago when I was feeling under the weather. Easily the best of Nolan's Batman trilogy. Heath Ledger was a brilliant Joker; it's a shame that he is no longer with us. The only thing I had an issue with was Two-Face, who came into the story and completely changed his character from good to evil within moments. He didn't get long enough in the film IMO. Quote

He didn't get long enough in the film IMO. The movie was quite long, to get enough time for Two-Face would've made it far too long. My opinion is that the movie should've finished earlier finishing off The Joker, and Two-Face be elaborated in a separate movie. Quote

Two-Face wanted his form of justice (after the Joker manipulated him into thinking this) on the people responsible for Rachel's death. Quote
Stinky Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Right now on TCM is the 1956 sci-fi classic Forbidden Planet. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0049223/ Starring Leslie Nielsen. A must see imho. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 (edited) How To Train Your Dragon (watched a day ago). A good film, mainly because it takes a completely different route to the book. Now, you would think that this would make it a bad film, but it actually makes it so much better. I can't understand the need for a sequel though. Edited February 25, 2013 by Star Wars NutJob 69 Quote

My opinion is that the movie should've finished earlier finishing off The Joker, and Two-Face be elaborated in a separate movie. I think the original ending involved a court scene with the Joker, and he turns Harvey Dent into Two-Face by throwing acid in his face. This was then supposed to set up the third film. Quote

This was then supposed to set up the third film. Wasn't this (the bit in bold) the origin of Two-face in the comics? As for that original ending, it would have made sense for them to do that and were it not for the unexpected death of Heath Ledger, I imagine those plans would have proceeded. Daenerys Targaryen Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Watched 'Final Fantasy Advent Children Complete' yesterday. All I can say is, holy sweet Emperor! The animation is absolutely stunning. Also getting more Sephiroth was nifty too! Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 The Dark Knight Rises. Well, I haven't finished re-watching it yet (I'm doing so as I type), but I'm getting there. It's not as good as The Dark Knight, but it is one hell of an epic conclusion to Nolan's Batman films. Quote
Scorpiox Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Platoon. Nice action sequences and a fair few good explosions. Up there with Apocalypse Now for the prize of Best Vietnam War Film Starring a Member of the Sheen Family. Quote
Spider-Man Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 (edited) Saw Jack the Giant Slayer on Friday and have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't go in with very high hopes, but it was a fun movie and put a nice twist on the classic story. Edited March 3, 2013 by Spider-Man Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I also had fun watching Thor today, this time paying more attention to it than I did when I first watched, so I actually noticed Hawkeye this time. It also got me excited for Thor: The Dark World all over again. Quote
Oky Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I watched Jack the Giant Slayer on premiere night. It was just OK. Some of the action and effects are nice, but other than that pretty forgettable. The story was very predictable, the 3D was practically non-existed, and there could have been more humor for my liking. Evan McGregor was great as always though. He even made a Star Wars reference ("I have a bad feeling about this"). Overall, it was a nice little fantasy adventure, but I recommend waiting to rent it or see it in a cheap theater. Quote

I thought McGregor was fantastic as well. I was really excited about the Star Wars reference so leaned over to share my enjoyment with my gf and lets just say she didn't feel quite the same way I did about it... Quote

Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Just watched The Incredible Hulk (2008 version) once again. This version is good, and Abomination makes a good villain. Not the best story line to it, but it's good nonetheless. It would be a shame if there was not a sequel, especially after Avengers Assemble made him such a popular character. Quote
Daenerys Targaryen Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Am currently watching Kingdom of Heaven. While I'm not a fan of Orlando Snooze who's simply far too Mr.Sad Panda throughout the whole film, the rest of the cast is epic! Plus, it's one of the few movies involving the 2nd Crusade which is easily the most interesting. And of corse, I love Iain Glen's cameo at the end as Richard the Lionheart! Apparently Riddly Scott was wanting to do a follow-up film detailing more of the Richard/Saladin story, hence why they signed Glen, but they've sadly never gotten around to it... Oh well, don't get to enough of Iain Glen this side of the pond, so I'm not complaining! Quote
just2good Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Saw the new Oz movie with my family tonight. It was pretty good, but some of the acting was bad. I really like the climax, and I admire how it was faithful and was careful with the copyright laws on the original Oz film. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 ^ My wife and I just got home from it, and I felt the same way. Overall a good film, but could have been a tad better IMO. Quote
