JoeMI6 Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 I concure with Austin Powers being a great movie serie. I can't stop watching episode 2 (the best IMO). If you like this, you might give a go to another great classic : wayne's world. Yeah, I've heard that's good. Upon seeing the Bohemian Rhapsody scene, it's definetly been put on my list of films to see. Heya, I just watched The Shining, by everything else a reason why I came here is to chill out a lil'bit...What a movie... I think this is only horror genred picture by maestral director Stanley Kubrick and he blast with this... I'm scared to death and there wasn't a single one of those predictable sudden shocks... It was all about atmosphere that follows fabula all the time... WHAT A MOVIE... highly recomended to all you horror-movie lovers >:-) I think I'm gonna watch American Pie or somthen'after all this... ;-) :-D Greetings from Serbia I've watched bits of The Shining. I just couldn't watch the rest. It's a greatly made film, no doubt about it. And the atmosphere did its job. Scared me one helluva lot. One day I need to watch it in full. In daytime, in a fully lit room. With lots of family and friends nearby... ;-) Quote
xwingyoda Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 He he lucky you guys to still be afraid watching movies |-/ I saw sooo many horror/gore/scary movies as a kid that I am like immune !! Its sad I tell you !! The Shinning is such a brilliant movie and Nickolson is really at his best 8- Quote
Djole Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 He he lucky you guys to still be afraid watching movies |-/ I saw sooo many horror/gore/scary movies as a kid that I am like immune !! Its sad I tell you !! NOOO!... I'm twenty and I'm an active horror-movie-watcher as far as I know even myself... I hope that wouldn't happen to me. ;-) Just wait, they'll hit you with somethin' Yoda ;-) :-D Greetings from Serbia Quote
xwingyoda Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Just wait, they'll hit you with somethin' Yoda ;-) :-D Bring it On I say *sing* ;-) !! EDIT: I just saw The Sentinel, well an ok movie but nothing more ;-) It was interesting on the US presidential protection point of view but what killed the movie was all the clich Quote
JoeMI6 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 I saw the brilliant Lost in Translation again yesterday. It's one of those films that just touches you. It's also amazing how it can induce a girl into a state where she's perfectly happy to get right up close with you. Quote
xwingyoda Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 I just saw Miami Vice and there are 2 ways to approach it: 1) you are a fan of the show like me and in that optic its 100 PURE CRAP !! Nothing parallels the 80's show (except the brand of the car). The characters are totally different: Gina beeing a real gun lover *wacko* Rico shooting a dude just for it !! Everything is wrong, just wrong !! The whole thing is darker because the violence is more graphic, BUT the show was actually darker psychologically. Also there are way too many clich Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 I watched A New Hope again on Monday, which was great. It's my favourite Star Wars film, and it just has some of the best designs in all of the movies. Plus, it had angry Vader in unlike the subsequent episodes where he didn't seem to get an angry tone in his voice. He's much cooler here. Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Silent Hill... didn't get the ending. Quote
Jipay Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Silent Hill... didn't get the ending. Didn't get the whole movie X-D Quote
JoeMI6 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 I rewatched the penultimate and the final films of the LoTR trilogy. Two Towers is my least favourite out of the three, but it's still pretty damn good. Helm's Deep still has that jaw dropping ability. Return of the King has everything that a good movie should have. It certainly deserved all 11 Oscars. But now that summer is over, all my film watching time is going to be lost :'-( . Quote
Lamanda2 Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 The last movie I watched was Batman Begins, it was my first time seeing it and it was definately an excelent film. :-) Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Silent Hill... didn't get the ending. Didn't get the whole movie X-D Well, the little dark world was (somehow?) created by the little girl wanting satisfaction for the atrocities against her. And she got it. Only... the nightmare world was still there, with the chick and her daughter stuck in it? Bleh. Sounds like a cheap cliffhanger for sequels. And what'd those people eat that whole time? I saw no gardens. Ugh.. lol. It's like the movie makers weren't even trying. Quote
Djole Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Silent Hill the movie is crap... :-) As for me, the reason I post here again is that I've watched The Fifth Element after long time... I supposed that I'm going to be disappointed as in the most of cases when I watch the movies which I've love in my childhood... But I wasn't :-D I really like the colorfull future that Luc Besson gave us us here. Excellent playing, by the main science fiction genre, gives us pieces of adventure (well the big one ;-) ), comedy, romance, thriller, drama... there you have everything for everybody's taste... Costumes are magnificent, speciall effects brilliant (for that time, 1997), and if you think that Milla Jovovich is sexy with all here role (and that orange hair)... well... you're probably 100% right. :-D Highly recommended to all sci-fi lovers, or better said all good-movie lovers ;-) Greetings from Serbia Quote
xwingyoda Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I just watched Snakes on a Plane and I have to say that I LOVED it !! I did really not expect that movie to be as crude, graphic and HILARIOUS !! I was laughing so hard during the whole movie my stomach hurts X-D Snakes do bite megablocks, megablocks and megablocks !! Crappy world filter :-D :-P Really its one of the best surprises of this year ;-) Run and watch it !! Its really freaking hilarious ;-) *yoda* Quote
MattZitron Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 On Wednesday and saw Snakes on a Plane for the second time. Which was fantastic. But on Thursday I saw the most hilarious and fantastic film, Crank. There's no need for them to make a film of GTA. Because Crank's already done it. Quote

It is one of those movies that can't get old ! I'd recommand you to watch starship troopers, the movie is IMO still great after all those years Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 I could listen to that blue opera alien chick's music in the Fifth Element for hours. As long as she didn't get stuck in opera mode too long. ...or get killed. :-| Quote
MattZitron Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Do you reckon the Element stones helped her voice? Quote

JoeMI6 Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 A watched a classic today. Recorded from Film Four's 'Films to see before you die', I saw A Clockwork Orange. This made me realise the many reasons why Kubrick is praised to such extremes. It also means that I'm gonna have to see a lot more of his work soon. The Shining, Eyes Wide Shut and Spartacus, here I come... Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 I watched Princess Mononoke again, still brilliant. I hope to watch Titan AE today. Quote
JoeMI6 Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 I've been rewatching the Star Wars saga with all the commentarys on recently (Ep 3, 1, am currently on 2). It's very cool to find out all the nice little facts that went into making some of my favourite films. Quote
Aredhel Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 On monday I watched CARS in cinema. What a great and cuuuute movie *wub* *wub* This evening I saw again "American Pie - the wedding" really funny movie Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 (edited) Finally got a dl of Jackass 2. Man... I didn't think they could top the first one. Those guys are such crazy bastards. The only "faked" scene in the entire movie is when Johnny Knoxville puts his arm into a bear trap. Becaus they had to do a few takes for it, they adjusted the tension on it so it could be done again and again. However, when the other guy did it, it was at normal tension. The only other "fake" things in the movie are sound effects... mainly, the sound they gave the bulls... which were trampling and colliding with the guys... painfully. X D Great stuff. I'd do anything to take part in their big red rocket or rocket bicycle scenes. Oh, who'm I kidding? I'd be doing at least half the stunts they do if I also had someone paying me for it / a full medical team on standby. All in the name of humor. Edited September 27, 2006 by JINZONINGEN 73 Quote
Commander Wolf Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 The last movie I watched... Alright, get this: Cardcaptor Sakura: The Movie 2 - The Sealed Card Being an avid otaku (In the anime/manga) sense, I had to get around to watching CCS sometime. I watched the second movie after watching the other 70 episodes and the first movie. It was cute. And very Clamp in general. Quote
