Hobbes Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Miami Vice Great graphic violence, way too long, no Miami Vice "feeling" came up, absolutely miscast, original cast would have been better. In short: :-X Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I watched Taladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby at the weekend with a couple of friends. Very funny movie, but they spent too much time giving it moral values and not enough in making it funny towards the end. Yesterday when I was ill I watched one of my favourite films, Titan A.E. which features fantastic animation melded with CG effects and a storyline partly authored by Joss Whedon to create a brilliant (and highly under-rated) movie. xwingyoda Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I rerererererererere(...) watched a true classic: SW A New Hope the unscrewed ORIGINAL '77 version *wub* without all the crap added by Lucas :-D Now its a perfect movie ;-) *yoda* Quote
xwingyoda Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I just watched a really nice movie: The Devil Wears overpriced rubbish ;-) This movie is really great for its humour and perfect acting by two fantastic actors: Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci are both brilliant *y* *y* The dark and nasty humour is really fantastic as well :-D The romance of it kind of annoyed me and the ending was just horrible >:-( too bad cause it kind of ruined the fantastic atmosphere of this movie ;-) I would definitly recommand it ;-) *yoda* Quote
Djole Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 I bought today 2 disc edition of Tim Burton Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I saw Spirited Away, a masterpiece of Japanese film by Miyazaki. What a movie! Quote
JoeMI6 Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I rewatched Serenity, one of the best films in recent times. This was accompanied by rewatching the fantastic Firefly TV series. Quote
Aredhel Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I bought today 2 disc edition of Tim Burton Quote
xwingyoda Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Yesterday and today I finished the OOT: that is SW original masterpiece without all the lucrap added in 97 and 05 Those versions are sooooooo much better *wub* True classics *wub* Oh boy Lucas did screw ROTJ !! I want to shoot him just for that !! Tks I now have the version with the "real" Emperor's voice and old DV in hologram and not that young Anie crappy prick (among other crap) >:-( And I now have the answer to my question: the Ewok cleaning the stairs in Jabba's palace in the beginning of ROTJ is original and not added material *sweet* *yoda* Quote
Lost Viking Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I just finished watching "The Producers" Funny movie! And now, my older brother works at Rodgers Video (a rental chain in Canada) so I can rent free movies and games whenever I want! Quote
Aredhel Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Just watching "Pirates of the Caribbean 1" I cannot get enough of it... ;-) -Aredhel Quote
Sir Dillon Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I just watched the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children movie... I liked it ok, the graphics were good, and the fight seens I thought were neat, but since I only played a little bit of the game, (and that was a while ago) I was a little confused as to what was going on... :-/ Quote
Lost Viking Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I just finished X-Men: The Last Stand... it was alright... Quote
Lost Viking Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Sorry for double posting... but I just watched Monty Python: The Life of Brian. That is one freak'n funny movie. Quote
JoeMI6 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I just rewatched the Hulk. Not a typical comic book movie, but a good un' none the less. Ang Lee (director) really focuses on the heart of the story. The great special effects are there, but it doesn't take priority, and they've made the Hulk look human as well, not just some random monster. Quote
xwingyoda Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 When Demonic Possession is present, when you are awaken at 3am, when you feel under attack, what will you do ? "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling" I just watched again a fantastic movie called The Exorcism of Emily Rose based on a true story. The atmosphere of this movie is oppressing due to the fabulous and impressive acting by Jennifer Carpenter (playing Emily Rose). This movie retraces the true trial of the Father who tried by exorcism to free Emily from here 6 demons possession and who failed. He was prosecuted for criminal negligence and his only wish was not to be innocent BUT to tell the true story of Emily !! You want to learn the true story of Emily ? Go run and watch this movie. I said that the new Horror/Demonic (...) movies were really bad BUT this ONE is a true classic and needs to sit on the DVD shelf of this kind of movies next to the Exorcist, The Omen and all those fabulous movies !! I shall finish this post by a true fact: Emily before dying forseen that her story would be told and would really interest a lot of people !! Right she was as her grave has become a sanctuary for believers !! I will let you think and medidate on the epitaph on her grave: "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling" *yoda* Quote
Wobo Ihi Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I just finished X-Men: The Last Stand... it was alright... Same here. I was a bit disapointed though. I wanted to see more of Beast. And where was Nightcrawler? Quote
xwingyoda Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I wanted to change from my Halloween Specials ( X-D ) so I watched a great anime called Appleseed 8- Quote
xwingyoda Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 I just watched a fantastic movie called O Jerusalem. This movie was made by Elie Chouraqui and retraces the history of the creation of the State of Israel, from the UN vote dividing the Palestine, to the atrocities that followed, to the cration of the state and ends on the first cease fire in 1948. This great historical movie is shown from the point of view of two best friends: an american jew, and a palestinian muslim. It retraces how that war divided their two worlds. Its historically very accurate, and the actors portraying Ben Gourion and Golda Meir are astounding !! This movie is based on the book written by Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins and published in 1971 A very interesting, acurate and thrilling movie !! If you have a chance to see it, do not hesitate ;-) *yoda* Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 I tried to watch Monty Python: Life of Brian but I couldn't find it funny. Quote
