arc Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Frozen. Don't understand all the hype. I saw it recently too, and I have to agree. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't excellent either IMO. Quote
Lego Spy Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 (edited) Frozen. Don't understand all the hype. I saw it recently too, and I have to agree. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't excellent either IMO. I'm in the same boat. Not bad, but not as good as all the hype. It seems like Disney's just milking as much out of its success as possible with as many Multi-Language Let it Go remixes they can release. On the other hand, I just saw Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and all I can say is: Wow. There were so many memorable and well done scenes, just... Wow. Its one of those rare instances where the sequel is better than the original. Edited May 3, 2014 by Lego Spy Quote
Mandate Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Saw Cap'n Crunch America a week ago. Gotta say, good movie, but a lot of the plot falls away when even the slightest pressure is added. eg, why was there a USB adapter in the SHIELD bunker? What happened to the guy who fought with Cap'n and then threw a grenade at Black Widow and Captain America? Did they capture him or did he just dive off the ship after lobbing it at them? Why did they choose a Mac store to use the USB? How did no one know about Fury's second account? Why did Fury reveal his second account to the bad guys openly? etc It's good... Just not perfect. Saw Frozen. 'Twas good... ending needs work. Quite a bit, it seemed very forced. Quote
SandMirror38 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Edward Scissorhands. Finally saw this classic movie for English Assiagnment, heart touching I may have cried a little... But the end gives me the heeber jeebers. The music is wonderful as is the acting. Recommend this movie for all Quote
Palathadric Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Finally saw the LEGO Movie and in 3D too. My first 3D movie. Hilarious! I saw it with a group of non-AFOLs as well and they all loved it so much that they all want to see it again. Great stuff! Quote

Someone was saying to me yesterday that they don't know of anyone that saw it who didn't enjoy it. Quote
Ceroknight Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Captain America 2 was more like how Sir Basil Ashton described Frozen for me; pretty good but I didn't get what all the hype was for. Spiderman 2 was good, I really like their approach on things Quote

I don't quite remember what was on the USB. I think it was Arnim Zola though...Anyway, Batroc the leaper was captured, you can see him later being questioned by some people. I'm guessing they chose a mac store because they wanted a big public place where it would be easy to blend in and also they couldn't just be assassinated in the middle of a mall so it gave them some safety. As for the second account, are you talking about his eyeball thing? If you are, I'm assuming he made it in secret and or no one assumed he would have a retina scan on what was underneath his eyepatch. He revealed it to them because he knew they would win and pierce would lose, he probably planned on killing him anyway so the information would die with him anyway. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I watched the old Disney Tarzan in preparation for the inevitably dreadful live action remake (that I will absolutely not watch 'cos it looks so bad). It was a good movie, with the classic Disney approach present enough to make the film good but not too much to make it overly cliché. It was good to see such balance in Disney films, especially considering how some of the more modern Disney films (mainly the musicals) have become overly cliché in recent years, but have been of a higher quality despite that This is still good though, and probably deserves more acknowledgement than it actually receives. just2good Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Saw ASM2 on Saturday. It was hokey and cheesy at pints, but I was entertained and the acting was good. I'd give it a C+. Quote

Yeah, the Algorithm was on a USB but that doesn't explain as to why there was a USB adaptor in a 60-year old bunker that hasn't seen the light of day for... well, yeah... Didn't see Batroc after that, but I'll take your word for it. Yeah, I was talking about the eyeball. But still though, you'd think someone would have noticed Fury had two accounts. Well the usb had to be there so that Zola could be downloaded onto the flash drive in the first place. His whole mainframe was in that bunker so someone had to put him onto it using the usb adaptor. samurai-turtle Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 I watched Amazing Spider-Man 2 today (with my mom for a mother's day thing, and yes I did pay for the tickets if that is important). Quote
Kez Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 I watched Bad Neighbours today, it was hilarious, there was certainly some laugh out loud moments, I would recommend the watch and I rate it an 8/10 Quote
TheRedGuy Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 (edited) Godzilla! I'm picky when it comes to movies (I was one of those people who didn't like Man Of Steel) but honestly I loved every second of it. There were some pacing issues, but it's not much of a deal. Now, time for dem spoilers: Absolutely loved the Mutos, just as much as I loved Godzilla. They weren't just some generic monsters that are hell-bent on making as many explosions as possible, but just animals that wanted to reproduce. The scene where the male gave the female the nuke was adorable, and the gruesome deaths of them and their children wasn't as exciting to me as it was to most people. Scorpiox Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Inception: the best film I've seen for a long, long time. It's one of those films that feels intelligent as well as exciting, certainly very close to perfect. Quote

It's one of those films that feels intelligent as well as exciting, certainly very close to perfect. Bought the DVD an age ago, but it turned out to be a fake and was so terrible quality that it made me and my siblings want to cry. Thankfully, I had watched it before, so I was able to explain somewhat, otherwise we would have all been completely clueless by the end. I don't think I've bought a DVD since then. It's a great movie though when you can actually hear what's being said. Quote

Scorpiox Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Godzilla: perfect, besides Bryan Cranston's wig of course (but I'll let that go because I love Breaking Bad). Essentially this film was everything the 1998 movie should have been and more. The atmosphere built in the first act was certainly something. Quote
just2good Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 (edited) Saw X-Men: DFOP today... such an excellent film. Definitely up there with Cap2 for my second favorite film of 2014. Edited May 24, 2014 by just2good Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Just been to see X-Men: Days of Future Past. Safe to say, I was incredibly impressed by the film; the scale and intensity of it all was astounding. This probably isn't as good as The Winter Soldier was, but it certainly isn't far off of that level. Quote
