Lost Viking Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Do you think so?? IMO it was a really great movie!!!btw: just watching: "Frida" (about the life of Frida Kahlo played by Salma Hayek and Alfred Molina)! Really good movie! Did anyone of you see it? -Aredhel It was all right I guess but I just found it very slow. :-/ But I know a lot of people liked it, so I will stop so I do not offend anyone. :-P Quote

xwingyoda Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 "Les Choristes", it's a very boring movie we saw in the French lesson today, it was so boring I slept through the entire first half hour :-/ . Looool, I wouldn't know, I never saw it and I don't intend to ;-) I just saw a very interesting movie directed by Stephen Frears called The Queen. The movie retraces the relations between HM Elisabeth II (magnificently portaited by Helen Mirren) and Tony Blair (who just came into office) following Princess Diana's death. The Royal family didn't do anything for a week (not showing up in London, no statement, no royal mourning, not putting the flag to half post...) because HM considered Diana's death as a private tragedy. On the other hand, Blair pushed to have a royal mourning due to the public's overt display of mourning. Really a very interesting movie, really close to what happened, fantastically played and giving another portrait of English Monarchy ;-) You should definitly see it ;-) *yoda* Quote
MattZitron Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 I just saw The Last Kiss as well. I thought it was crap. It was poorly written and went to pieces at the end. Though it did have its moments, ALL the characters were thoroughly dislikable. But you see Rachel Bilson's tits, so you win in the end. Quote

oo7 Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I saw Stranger Than Fiction a couple days ago, the "value your life to it's full extent" is nothing new but it was presented in a clever way. Overall the movie was good, and not the slapstick comedy I expected it to be, but the ending was just plain es tee yoo pee ie dee. Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Rented these the other day: The Da Vinci Code and X-Men 3 Quote
xwingyoda Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Lucky you Matt :-P I can't wait the end of the month !! I saw a truly beautifull movie called El Laberinto del Fauno (aka Pan's Labyrinth) directed by the genious Guillermo del Torro !! I really would encourage you to watch this beautifull adult fairytale taking place during the Spanish Civil War in 1944. Guillermo is definitly NOT a Francist: Capitan Vidal (played by Sergi Lopez) is a real fascist and vicious tortionary... That political aspect put aside, this movie is beautifull and fantastically played !! A little girl living with her sick mother (who will die in Labour) and step father will discover her true self !! I can't enter into details because it would ruin the magic of the movie. The imagery is superb and the creatures (the faun and fairies) are really well designed !! A definite must see !! *yoda* Quote
JoeMI6 Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Yeah, I saw Borat last as well. It's side splitting as well as being a great film. All should see it. "Kazahkstan, greatest country in the world..." Quote
