Ceroknight Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Watched X-Men: Days of Future Past, personally I thought it was better than the Winter Soldier. The plot was more interesting and it had a more lasting effect for me anyway. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Saw both X-Men: DOFP and Philomena yesterday. Very different films, obviously, but both very good. Quote
Floundie Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 (edited) Godzilla: Pretty good! Unlike others I didn't think it had a slow beginning. My biggest problem of the film was the decision to kill off Bryan Cranston's character 30 minutes into the film! Not good because his son had all the personality of a wet sponge. Regardless, the big G was fantastic, right up there with Smaug. It was exhilarating to see him fire his atomic breath! So, I hope they don't screw up the next one. Gareth Edwards should definitely return. I hope we see some classic monsters, but above all, better human characters! Maybe I'll see X-men next week. Edited May 26, 2014 by Floundie Quote
Vindicare Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 I really enjoyed Godzilla too. I didn't find the story too slow either. When his tail lit up the travelled up his back, I got giddy. Knowing what was coming and his bad assery in killing the bug by shooting it down it's throat and ripping its head off was awesome! Quote
Ultron Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Saw DoFP last week. Not my favorite. Didn't really care for it to be honest. Too many plot holes and unanswered questions that really bother me. Quote
just2good Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 So I let go of my Frozen virginity today, and saw the movie. It was really good! The animation was vibrant, and the songs were good for the most part. B+ Quote

Artanis I Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Yeah I saw Frozen on Friday, I didn't think the songs were that great. Animation was good, humour was good, Disneyfied story was okay but not great. Some of it didn't really make much sense to me (hows and whys). Afterwards I found out it was originally Hans Christian Andersen, so I really want to find out how his version ended. Quote
Kez Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 I watched the newly released 'A million ways to die in the west', it was hilariously fantastic, I certainly liked the film references in this movie and imo it is a must watch. Quote
Actaeon Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I watched Non-Stop recently. Great movie! I recommend it Quote
Dr Leg O Brick Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Groundhog day. Never gets old, must have watched it a hundred times and it's always enjoyable, one of my favourite films, though I've noticed the marmalade effect with it. You either really love it, or really hate it. Quote
Zerobricks Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Maleficent 3D It was a good movie, I really like the whole shape shifting thing Quote
Heppeng Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Ghostbusters. After building the lego Ecto-1 it felt like almost essential viewing. I was impressed by how movie accurate the lego model was. Quote

You either really love it, or really hate it. Funny that you mention this, as I saw Edge of Tomorrow over the weekend. It's essentially the sci-fi version of Groundhog Day. It's actually quite good, and a lot more humorous than the advertising makes it out to be. Quote

Ultron Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Wall-E. Such an outstanding movie. It really is...people give it so much crap for no reason. Quote
Actaeon Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 It really is...people give it so much crap for no reason. Right? My friend hated it! Every time I asked why, he just said "Eeeeevaaaa". That is a pretty bad reason to dislike an awesome move! Quote

I like to tell myself only sophisticated people like it Seriously though, it's a masterpiece. Maybe I also appreciate it because I'm an environmental studies major. It's got a powerful message if one cares to look Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 In honor of the 30th anniversary of the first movie I watched both Ghostbusters movies. Man, those are great. 1st is always awesome, but the 2nd was better than I remembered. Also saw Rio 2 last week. Pretty good. Some scenes are just amazing to look at. The end was pretty environmentalist to the extreme but I saw it coming. Overall, a cute film. Quote

Ultron Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 You don't have to look too hard either Right? Most people can't seem to get past the fact that the first half is almost completely silent though. Quote
