Gatthekid Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) I just saw Guardians of the Galaxy today. I saw it in 3D and it was simply amazing. Very funny. I was shaking with excitement during the opening scene! I also saw Tammy last month. That was a pretty funny movie. Edited August 3, 2014 by Gatthekid Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Saw Guardians Of The Galaxy. Meh, 7/10 Not a fan of fun movies, huh? To each their own I guess... Quote
samurai-turtle Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 I watched "Son of Batman" today. I guess it is one of the better Batman movies out their. Quote
Brickus Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy, best MARVEL movie yet. Quote
Ceroknight Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy, best MARVEL movie yet. Just came back from it and I agree! Quote
Vindicare Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 (edited) Guardians...amazing! I felt like a giddy little school girl at a few spots. Thanos & The Collector talking about the gems(and the film universe confirmation of them) I was listening for a few names to be mentioned, Carol Danvers and/or Sam Alexander, just hints at what could be. Plus, that soundtrack was great! Edited August 5, 2014 by Legocrazy81 Quote
Slurpifier Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Just recently watched The Last Great Warrior (or Squanto: A Warrior's Tale in some countries) Very interesting film made by Disney, re-telling the events of English settlers and Pilgrims on their expedition's to America, with a young Native American encountering them, and learning about their daily ways and beliefs. For a Disney film, I really enjoyed it! Quote
montgocloud Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I just watched a bunch of Woody Allen classics including Annie Hall, Hannah and Her Sister, Manhattan, and Everything you Wanted to Know About Sex (*But Were Afraid to Ask). All wonderful films. They're hilarious, heartwarming, and extremely relatable. I can easily recommend them to everyone. Quote
Legogal Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Boyhood, which was filmed over 12 years and about the life of a small boy and what happened as he grew up. Well made. We have watched Moonrise Kingdom (on Netflix/Flix) a few times and always love it. A great family film. Bruce Willis is a great islander cop, and Bill Murray and his onscreen wife play hilarious attorneys who speak to each other as if they are in court...all of the time. In the middle of umpteen hundred episodes of The Good Wife, a CBS TV drama set in Chicago also on Flix. Well acted and interesting stories. Makes me detest lawyers/attorneys and the US legal system even more....even though I was an attorney for a while in an earlier life. Quote
_epicster_ Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Guardians for my third time. the other last 2 movie's ive watched were guardians. Quote

Gatthekid Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Guardians...amazing! I have to agree with you about the soundtrack. It has to be the best soundtrack that has ever been in a movie. I love 70's music! Guardians for my third time. the other last 2 movie's ive watched were guardians. Not trying to offend you, but who would go to see a movie in theaters twice, let alone 3 times? That's a complete waste of good money in my opinion. I'm not saying Guardians of the Galaxy doesn't deserved to be seen that many times (I would if I had the money :P) but I just don't think I would waste money seeing it 3 times the first week it came out. I've seen it twice. Once with my friends and then I took my family. I think it's totally worth it! You better believe I'll be seeing Avengers 2 at least 5 times Quote
SandMirror38 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Saw GotG today for my bday, honestly I was enjoying myself heaps in the first minute and that second opening scene was hilarious.... Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 The Dark Knight and Man of Steel. Quote
gedren_y Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 A Danny DeVito classic, Renaissance Man. Even though the phone technology in the beginning dates it a little, the movie is still holds up. Quote
Kez Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Today I did a double whammy of movies, I first watched Guardians if the Galaxy which I rate at least a 9/10 and secondly I watched The Inbetweeners 2 which was hilarious and worthy of a 7/10. Quote
Artanis I Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Prometheus (again). I pretty much get what's going on with the "engineers" now, but still don't know how the pilot got that information. Or why this thing turns into that thing turns into the other thing turns into another thing turns into Geiger's alien. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Since last time, I've watched The LEGO Movie, Guardians of the Galaxy and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. All good movies, but The LEGO Movie was just so completely random, and I couldn't help but feel somewhat disappointed with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes after watching it, It was good, but I didn't enjoy it anywhere near as much as I thought I would. As for Guardians of the Galaxy, what more can I say other than that it was absolutely brilliant? Quote
Daenerys Targaryen Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Into the Storm. Very surreal and moving at the end as they show off a montage of the damage from the April 2011 tornado outbreak, including a couple frames of footage from Joplin. Quote
robuko Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 (edited) ASM 2 very good naturalistic performances from all the leads. I really did not see the plot twist coming. Blubbed at this one. 8/10 The 100 year old man who climbed out a window and disappeared. A hilarious film (Swedish). It's like a Tarentino/Danny Boyle/Wes Anderson cross over on a Forrest Gump frame. Really liked it. 8/10. CA:TWS again. This is a very important movie right now. Especially for Americans. La Grande Belleza. Beautifully shot and acted but I found it really dull and not very meaningful. 4/10 Edited August 16, 2014 by robuko Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 (edited) Guardians of the galaxy and Ninja turtles 2014. I found TMNT to be vary ok. It wasn't unwatchable but it wasnt mind blowing either, guardians and age of extinction blew this out of the water completely here's why: Shallow to non existent story, plot holes, nothing about it was compelling at all! I was expecting it to pull me in more but it didnt. Bear in mind I'm trying to look at this from a cinematic point of view as well. The origin part of the story was all over the place in the beginning and when the turtles first appear there all badass and cool and the vibe you get is pretty good but then they bring in the overly used ninja turtle cliches and shoehorn them in so they feel..lame or awkward, i see what they went for but gah..I mean what can you expect from a ninja turtles movie in 2014? It's exactly what you get, nothing more. The few redeeming qualities about this movie was Shredder (very BA) the big rig snow escape scene was very awesome and the turtles designs were cool to. So, yeah, it was kinda intertaning i guess, if you like fart jokes being put in with a gritty atmosphere... Did anyone actually read this? Edited August 17, 2014 by Im a brickmaster. Quote
