Junior Shark Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Yep, the book went above and beyond to explain the science. Even without all that, I still think the film was really great. Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Fantastic film! Quote
Junior Shark Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Batman v Superman. Better than Fantfourstic, at least. Quote
Forresto Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Batman V Superman. I really enjoyed it but there were a few iffy moments. The Batman superman parts were fantastic almost everytime and Ben Affleck was excellent as the dark knight. There were a few cringey mo0ments and parts of the third act didnt feel neccesary. Overall I thought it was great and im completely baffled by the lonf slew lf bad reviews Quote
xboxtravis7992 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 I watched Thor2 on TV! Still my least favorite MCU film. Quote
Junior Shark Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Spectre. It was OK, weaker than Skyfall and Casino Royale but better than Quatum of Solace. The theme song and animated credits sequence were probably the worst out of any Bond film ever. Quote
Iria Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 The theme song and animated credits sequence were probably the worst out of any Bond film ever. Yup, so boring. I think the person sitting next to me said "Ughh, kill me now." Quote
Junior Shark Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) "Ughh, kill me now." El oh el! That was just how I felt. We had that awesome opening scene in Mexico, then some weird CGI octopus is messing with Bond and... wut? And I don't dislike Sam Smith, but the song was just.. woof. Reaally breathy. And lacking in direction- it felt really epic and Bond-y in parts, but then he breaks into these extended breathy soprano sections, stealing the momentum. Yuck. Questionable choices were made no doubt about it but overall not a bad start. There are worse Bat/DC movies out there (shudder) Quote
Junior Shark Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 I know the next movie I'll be watching- The Force Awakens, on Blu-Ray, in the comfort of my own home. Quote
Ultron Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Perks of Being a Wallflower. Such a great movie. One of my favorites Quote
Junior Shark Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 I know the next movie I'll be watching- The Force Awakens, on Blu-Ray, in the comfort of my own home. Yep. This was the last movie I watched. (The last two, actually. I have a problem.) Quote
Forresto Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Found a DVD of Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window at a thrift store today. What a fantastic movie, still holds up after all these years and of course it's Jimmy Stewart in a Hitchcock film! Need I say more? Quote
Iria Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Over the last couple of weeks: '71 - Decent, but a bit confusing since I couldn't always pick up all the Irish accent dialogue. Sicario - Difficult to understand the actress/protagonist's purpose in the film, aside from doing a good portrayal on how moral people respond to amoral situations. The Voices - Slightly humorous, but mostly weird. Quote
rodiziorobs Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 (edited) Groundhog Day, for the nth time. Live Die Repeat. (Also known by the totally generic title Edge of Tomorrow) It was pretty good, despite some plot inconsistencies, and very entertaining. Aside from good performances by Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, it is probably also the only movie/show where I have found Bill Paxton both well-cast and watchable. Forresto Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Gah I need to watch that. I think my parents have the DVD, and I've seen the Simpsons parody... You need to see that movie, love or hate you need to see it at least once it's just that much a classic. I would say that about most of Hitchcock's films but especially of Vertigo, Psycho, The Birds, and Rear window. If you enjoy his style and the simpsons episode you will like it. That's without a doubt one of my favorite movies. No joke. But I'm also a bit of a Hitchcock fanboy, so... Same here I absolutely love Hitchcock films. I have yet to watch Hitchcock Presents but as far movies go I would say i'm also a bit of a fanboy Quote
Space Police XVIII Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Batman vs Superman. What crap. Had I paid to see it I'd actually be a little annoyed. Quote
Junior Shark Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Had I paid to see it I'd actually be a little annoyed. You lucky swine. Some of us had to pay for it. Really though, the only movie I've seen where I wanted my money back after exiting the theater was Fantfourstick. Quote

Really though, the only movie I've seen where I wanted my money back after exiting the theater was Fantfourstick. Oh my friends wanted to go to the Drive In Theater last year, and the movies that played that night was Inside Out and then Fan-Four-Astic. How could such a great movie be paired with that disaster? How? Fortunately with the movie reaching into 2:00 in the morning I was asleep for half of Fan-Four-Astic... Quote
