Kintobor Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 The Peanuts' Movie. Super cute. The plot was a little simplistic, but I don't think that hindered the movie in any real way. A lot of the old Charlie Brown cartoons had simplistic plots, and some of those are particularly memorable. Snoopy's daydreams of the Red Baron were a riot, particularly as they cut away from Snoopy's imagination to what was actually happening. If I have one solid complaint, it's the use of some modern music. I don't remember the songs at all, and they didn't help in the ultimately timeless feeling I get from the rest of the movie. Other than that, though, I thought this was a solid Peanuts movie with some great gags and a lot of heart. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Suicide squad, my review is on the DCEU page. Quote
Leo604 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Star Trek Beyond on Saturday; loved the storyline, and the chemistry between the different pairings of characters throughout the whole film. Quote
YellowCorvette Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 The Avengers (2012). It's still enjoyable, but isn't as great as I remembered. Quote
x105Black Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I watched Delirious with John Candy. Funny stuff. Quote
N-4K0 Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Suicide Squad at the cinema earlier. Just finished watching Transformers: Age of Extinction after coming home. Quote
x105Black Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 I watched Analyze That. I still haven't seen Analyze This, so I have no idea if this was a worthy sequel or not. Decent comedy, though. Quote
Ultron Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Star Trek: Beyond. I thought it was pretty good! Probably one of the better movies I've seen this year, and the tributes were touching. Still waiting for some Gorns to appear! Also wish that Alice Eve had reprised her role but all well.. Quote
legobagel Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Just finished the Giver! Such a good movie, IMO. Watched Kung Fu Panda 3 yesterday. Quote
x105Black Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 I watched Hail, Caesar! last night. It was a funny movie. Quote
PicnicBasketSam Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Revenge of the Sith, finally. Eh... I actually liked Episode 1 more, believe it or not. Between the ridiculous fight scenes there's just so much sitting and talking (in George Lucas' fantasy version of how people talk), and Hayden Christiansen was only a bit less of a pain. Lots of Palpatine's delivery was unintentionally hilarious, though. Also, Kung Fu Panda 3. Not as good as the other 2, but quite enjoyable nonetheless. Quote
Leo604 Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Watched Suicide Squad yesterday - posted some of my thoughts on it in the DC Universe thread. Quote
x105Black Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 I watched Adventures in Babysitting today. So wild. I love that movie. Quote
BrickJagger Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Watched Anthropoid yesterday. A good movie, but I felt like I was watching two different movies due to the first half being quite tame and the second half being a bloodbath. Quote
PicnicBasketSam Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I figured I should probably watch the modern DC films, so today I watched Batman Begins. Wow. That was a thoroughly enjoyable movie. Darker and grittier than I was expecting, but damn it was entertaining... will def. be watching the other two Nolan films before anything else. Quote

Rotundus Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I just saw "Nine Lives" today. Cute movie. Good clean fun for all... Although Christopher Walken's dance sequence was way too short. Quote
YellowCorvette Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Iron Man (2008). A pretty enjoyable movie that can stands on its own, even after watch the movie for several times. Quote
x105Black Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 (edited) I watched American Buffalo. I found it to be boring, and lacking in any real story. The acting and dialogue were good, though. Edited August 21, 2016 by x105Black Quote

Leo604 Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Imperium starring Daniel Radcliffe - I won't go into too many details here because it is a rather dark topic, but suffice it to say that it's a good film if you're into southern American history/culture. Quote
x105Black Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I watched Mystery Date. It's a good movie, quite funny. Quote
CM4Sci Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Saw Sausage Party. Think that's all I need to say. Quote
