x105Black Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 I watched Youngblood, a hockey movie with Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, and Keanu Reeves. Former Chicago Blackhawk Eric Nesterenko is also featured in the film. I really enjoyed this movie. As a hockey fan, and someone who is about to get back into league play, this was really fun to watch. Also, being from 1986, it had a great 80's feel and a great score. Quote
Umbra-Manis Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Recently watched Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. Not as good as the first two, but a nice end to the series. Also watched Spaceballs for the first time, which I found pretty enjoyable! Quote

Bricky Dee Williams Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 I just watched Arsenic and Old Lace (1944). It's a fantastic Dark Comedy (I think that's the genre). I found my local high school Drama Club is doing it Halloween weekend. Quote
Forresto Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 (edited) Xboxtravis inspired me to rewatch another great world war 2 movie, Fury. Theres a scene in that movie that always gets me where they see this massive bomber formation flying over that gets intercepted by German fighters. My great uncle was apart of a bomber crew who was killed over Luxembourg when his bomber was shot down. Fury is an incredible film and one that put me off war films for a long time. I love war films because they allow for actors to display a full array of emotions that are often very raw. Fury however just showed how horrific war really is in a way that got to me. I just watched Arsenic and Old Lace (1944). It's a fantastic Dark Comedy (I think that's the genre). I found my local high school Drama Club is doing it Halloween weekend. Thats one of my favorite childhood movies. The real life Boris Karloff backstory to the film is pretty intereting. Edited September 3, 2016 by Forresto Quote
PicnicBasketSam Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 The Dark Knight, at last. It was exceptionally well written and acted, and the sheer darkness, brutality, and runtime didn't really bother me because it was so entertaining. Quote
x105Black Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I just finished Mystery, Alaska. That's a great movie. I saw it years ago, but forgot how good it was, and how good the cast is. Another great hockey movie, getting me ready for my season. Quote
PicnicBasketSam Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Inception. *BWONG* Really interesting idea that was very well executed, great action sequences, and an overall mix of imagination and assuming that the viewers are geniuses (Interstellar's gonna be fun...) that turned out extremely entertaining. Iria Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Coming to America. Cheesy but still funny. Hopefully up next : Trading Places. Another great 80s flick. Quote
xboxtravis7992 Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 I watched Inspector Gadget with Matthew Broderick. I really wish I hadn't. I loved that movie; when I was five years old! :) I am sure if I watched it now I'd want to gouge my eyes out in horror. Quote
Forresto Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Rushmore, the play scenes always kill me! Quote

I used to love the cartoon. The movie was even more over the top than the cartoon, which to me always had a bit of a noir feel. Anyways, the movie was garbage. Sin City That's a great movie. So well made. And Jessica Alba! Rushmore, the play scenes always kill me! Love that movie. So ridiculous. Anyways, I watched Another Stakeout with Richard Dreyfuss, Emilio Estevez, and Rosie O'Donnell. It wasn't terrible, and had some genuine laughs. Quote
Umbra-Manis Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Batman V. Superman, where to begin. Hard to follow story, random dream sequences (Batman is Ep. III Anakin now?) More time spent fighting the other thing than the actual BvS fight. I think I'll just watch a Nolan batman film every time Zack Snyder makes a DC film, instead. Quote
x105Black Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Today, I watched Stakeout. It was quite a bit better than its sequel. Quote
PicnicBasketSam Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Interstellar. I think Christopher Nolan is now officially my favorite filmmaker. Despite a couple of iffy bits in the story, it's extremely well done technically, and very entertaining... I was not confused once by the bleeding-edge science, except maybe the tesseract sequence, and even though it was a little bit slow at times the 3-hour runtime really didn't bother me. Not since the longer Harry Potters (sans #2) has that not been an issue... now, I haven't seen Lord of the Rings (I've read it, though), but that was really an exceptional movie. Quote
samurai-turtle Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 I watched Inspector Gadget with Matthew Broderick. I really wish I hadn't. Hey it's better than the second one with French Stuart (from 3rd rock from the Sun). For some reason I have been re-watching my DVD's. The first one I watched is "Flying Deuces". An old B&W movie from 1939 staring Laurel & Hardy. Next is Indiana Jones: and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Quote

I loved that movie, despite its flaws and quirks. Hey it's better than the second one with French Stuart (from 3rd rock from the Sun). Hard to imagine they could make a worse Inspector Gadget movie. Donnie Darko That's a really good and interesting movie. Last movie I watched was Old Dogs. I expected it to be bad, but it actually had me laughing. Robin Williams can't not be funny in a comedy. Robert8 Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill for That's a really good and interesting movie. I know right? Kinda messed up, though. At the end I was like what the hell did I just watch? Jake Gyllenhaal was so creepy in this one. More than usual But I had to read an explanation in the official website to get the premise of the movie. And that's not good as I think a movie should be self explanatory Quote
rodiziorobs Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 (edited) Hail, Caesar! Back to the future I just saw that the full series was on Netflix, it's about time for a rewatch... Edited September 8, 2016 by rodiziorobs Quote
x105Black Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Hail, Caesar! I watched that recently. How did you like it? I enjoyed it, but felt that the ending was sort of anticlimactic. I watched The Suburbans today. It wasn't bad. It wasn't as good as I would have hoped, either. On a side note, Jennifer Love Hewitt totally looks like Alyssa Milano. Quote
npgcole Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 The LEGO Movie... again... for like the bajillionth time. Still awesome, just like everything. Quote
