Cutty Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 "Underworld: Evolution" yesterday evening... ...and what a random disaster of videogame-action scenes it was. Hardly worth watching. Though I must say the makers do twist the classic vampire-attitude a bit. But here's one thing I won't understand: If you know you cannot harm/kill an undead creature with your puny automatic-rifle, what is the damn point in KEEPING TO FIRE at the frackin' thing?! Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Indeed Cutty !!!! I liked the first instalment but this "Evolution" is just crap, crap and recrap :-X The whole storyline is dramaticly bad & full of nonsense (like Cutty said stop shooting the hairry carpet with UV bullet you moron !!! and normal bullets on vampires !! yeay how stupid), the beginning is filmed horribly (bad imagery, filmed way too fast like catwoman if you see what I mean :-X )... A couple of fun scenes and a way too short sex scene doesn't make it a viewable movie :-/ No need to write more on that movie !! *yoda* Quote

Storyline-wise its more or less: "What are we going to do right now? -> Don't know, but it involves killing werewolves and vampires!". To everyone's surprise the supreme lord of all the undead is a mere whitebearded sissy (he cares for his sons, no matter how bad they behave...), the climax of the movie involves a "vampire blender" and the way to "Underworld 3" is paved with allusions to a shifted hierarchy in the order of werewolves and vampires... ...the sex scen is by the way not only to short but also too lame...some pretty people coughing an moaning is hardly erotic. To me that is. At least the male person has some hair on his thighs, which I count as a redeeming quality in terms of credibility. For any other aspect, the movie lacks... Quote
Aredhel Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Mars Attacks Love that movie! *wub* I love movies made by Tim Burton in general! Quote
vahkimetru Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Liberty's Kids. But that's not even a movie... Quote
JoeMI6 Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Lord Thrawn lent me Serenity, it's SOOOOOO good. Better than the three Star Wars prequels. On par with the original trilogy, watch it. Best film i've seen in a while. Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Saw the Pink Panther remake last night !! It was pretty funny even if the classics are way better ;-) Still a joyfull and fun movie to watch !!! *yoda* Quote
Vader Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Watched Serenity yesterday and thought it was good but i do feel it was overated. Quote
SuvieD Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 I watched the extended Fellowship of the Ring last night. No matter how many times I see it I always think the same things. Peter Jackson and the amazing crew of people working for him made a great movie with not enough money to do so. The first movie has a special adventure feel to it more so than the other two and I think it makes it that much better. Even though it deviates from the books in so many ways it is still fairly well thought out and much better than the hack job Lucas did with SW. I really liked Sean Bean as Boromir and wish that the focus of the movie was not so singularly involving Frodo. Though Frodo is so central to the story Tolkien gave so much time and effort to make his characters what they were that some of it is lost in the movies. I think that by reading the books it gives an advantage to what is going on in the movie and even though so much is not included (rightfully so) you can better appreciate the subtilities of the films. If you have not seen the extended versions of the films do yourself a favor and go watch them. Quote
snefroe Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 saw "Terminator" a few days back and i was terrified .... by the woman's hair style! :'-( thank god the 80's are over! :-P they also gave us an insight on the future of our planet and the shocking truth is this: i didn't see any lego there! :-P Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Watched Equilibrium again !! I really like those dark movies !! Nothing really new, just another hero taking out an horrible Orwell's world/perfect society on his own because he...felt again !! The gun Katas were impressive and I really like Christian Bale as an actor !! Now I wonder why I stopped taking those pills ;-) *yoda* Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Last week I watched Memento as well as Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels Quote

languages Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 V for Vendetta - wierd but not as good as the Matrix Quote
Berry Syedow Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 I watched King Kong in the theater a few weeks ago. The movie is well paced and the beginning isn't nearly as bloated as some people make it out to be. The best part of the film is the insect pit. Gosh, I love that whole bit. X-D My only complaint is when the camera repeatedly does an overview of the natives' island. It just seemed so pointless... :-/ Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 I think I might have sen a chuck norris movie last but I watch so many I can't remember which one (either Lone Wolf Mcquade or Delta Force) And I'm seeing Ice AGe on my training day tomorrow. Quote
Cutty Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Chicken Little, V for Vendetta and Inside Man Chicken Little was cute, but not outstanding. The baby-alien at the end was gorgeous ^^ And V for Vendetta was absolutely amazing! I loved every second of it. Go get out there and watch it...if only to reassure yourself that the Wachowski bros. CAN actually do good movies (I still think Matrix 2 and 3 are good movies...). Inside Man is pure bliss! I mean all these funny characters twisting in this highly interwoven story, multiple story-layers...and a katharsis that is predictable but fun to watch ^^ And Jodie Foster is brilliant ^^ Quote
