Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted November 15, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted November 15, 2007 I watched Buitenspel yesterday. A dutch movie that my girlfriend really wanted to see. Not recommendable... :-D Quote
Aredhel Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 LOTR...all 3 in a row! :-D I'm a nerd *sing* The extended versions? Or the silly normal cinema versions? Btw, watched Beowulf yesterday evening... Must say, it was good, but not what I expected -Aredhel Quote

Must say, it was good, but not what I expected -Aredhel I watched Beowulf last night too. There was not much resemblence to the poem after the first hour then it was just an excuse to get Angelina naked, not that I minded. *sweet* *sweet* *y* *y* I've watched all three extended versions of LOTR in a row before also. Sixteen hours of pure cinematic pleasure. But I did it right... only paused it to go to the front door to get the pizza I had delivered so wouldn't have to stop and make/get food. Nerdiness on!!! :-D :-D Quote
Mr Spielbrick Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Clerks II Not exactly a movie that charms it's audience with subtleness. But hey, none of Kevin Smith's movies are. So knowing what I was getting into, I... still got surprised. I won't get into details, but even for my open mind, some scenes were pushing it. Beneath all the obsenities, there's a sweet story to be found though. About being an adult, dealing with normal life and the disappointments that go with it. Overall a funny, heartfelt movie with one too 'daring' a scene for me, maybe. Still recommended if you saw (and liked) the first Clerks and/or some of Smith's other films. Quote

(though that was last year and not recent) Not recommendable, as much as you love Star Wars, I will never again sit in a dark room watching tv from morning till midnight. :-/ Quote
Mr Spielbrick Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Gheh, on marathons I'm quite the geek too. When Revenge of the Sith came out on dvd, I held an all-six-films 14-hour marathon with a mate. A year later, we watched all the Extended Editions of Lord of the Rings in a row at his house. Pirates 3 is coming out next week... Hm, I think I see another marathon on the horizon. Drink up me hearties, yo ho! Quote
ExoBuilder Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 1408. It was an interesting movie. I was shocked plenty of times of course. Quote

In daylight, or at night? I could do that in daylight, but doing it at night until 5 in the morning would be seriously bad for my condition in the next few days. *wacko* Edited November 18, 2007 by Grevious Quote
Starwars4J Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 I saw "August Rush" last night. It was good, but didn't quite live up to the hype. The acting at the end was unbelievable (the bad kind :-P), and the ending felt rushed. Not to mention the lead actor was really, really annoying. And the beginning was horrid. The middle was good, however... Quote
Zarkan Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Watched most of the network TV premier of the Incredibles. I never get tired of watching Pixar movies over and over again.... *sweet* Quote

Asuka Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 No country for old men the Cleaner. Ahem.... that sounds interesting, and of course I just *wub* free expression of thoughts, but perhaps it could be a little more useful to add a few more words of what Quote
Batbrick Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 I'll Take Asuka's advice above me :-) Watched Batman Begins again, I love that movie. I hated the old Burton ones because it was so style over substance, to the point where, as one critic stated, it had plot-holes you could drive the new Batmobile through. Also Batman killed, not cool :-( My favourite parts are featuring the Scarecrow, Cillian Murphy did a very good, creepy version of him. The story is great, and the inclusion of several morals and emotional scenes kept it from repeating the Burton formula. Also a favourite bit (spoiler ahead!!) is the meeting between Gordon and Batman on the roof at the end and Batman given a case about a double homicide, where the killer left behind a Joker card! X-O Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
