and why could indy survive an atom bomb in a fridge???

Oh oh, but it was a LEAD fridge! That makes all the difference!

Anyway, saw TCoN: Prince Caspian today. It was really great - wondeful voice acting, great characters, plenty of storyline, awesome battle scenes, great special effects, and it stays true to the Narnia spirit! Definitely one of the best movies I've seen in the last few years, and even better than the first Narnia movie!

And to think - this all came from the director of Shrek! I think C. S. Lewis himself would be pleased with the direction this series is going in today. :classic:

I saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull yesterday. Although it had it's fair share of plain silly moments and is in m opinion the worst of the IJ movies, it was still a very fun and exciting movie. I'd highly recommend it :sweet:

I've just got back from seeing Indy 4. What a movie! It was very... different to what I expected. Some nice scenery, especially with the detailed ruins, although it was a bit sad seeing them smashed to pieces. I didn't spot any Star Wars references though, although I did see the Ark of the Covenant. Anyway, overall a good movie.

One thing that's bugging me though, is that we only get three crystal skeletons in the entire Lego line, and only the heads are crystal at that! We could at least have got the head of one in one of the smaller sets, it was present in all those scenes. And then a body to put it on in the last set. I would have loved some transparent skeletons... :cry_sad:

Indiana Jones 4! I loved it. I know the story's getting mixed criticism, and I admit I was a bit unsure when I first saw it too, but overall I was left with positive remarks. The style was very nostalgic, and overall I think it lived up to the style of the originals.

Now if only it could be implemented into Lego Indiana Jones [the video game!].

Went to see Indy 4 this afternoon. Loved it, every minute. The giant ants bit was a little creepy though. And did anyone notice how many cars, trucks and jeeps lifted off the ground/flew through the air? It's as if the special effects crew were impressed with themselves!

And the Ark guest appearance was a nice surprise.

For some reason, the kid next to me decided to take his shoes off for the duration iof the film.

Finally finished viewing the Indiana Jones, the Last Crusade and the Crystal Skulls over the weekends.

Both movies are fanastic. I must admit that Harrison Ford does look much older in this recent blockbuster. However, this is one of the highest anticpated movie that we waited for. Trust me, it's worth while to watch. Despite of some mixed comments, Indiana Jones 4 had lived up to its orignal plot with its past 3 movies. Although, I must admit that the ending is quite unbelievable but this is one movie I enjoyed the most.

Just out of curiosity, do you mean you like the new film more than the others? Or by "most" do oyu just mean you loved it?

I watched You Only Live Twice, a Bond film with the great Sean Connery. It is one of my favourite Bond films, makes me wish the new Casino Royale series was a little more campy and fun.

It's funny, go onto IMDB and there are 104 pages of reviews for Indiana Jones IV, yet almost none of them are positive. I genuinely loved it because of its style, return of Indiana Jones, and overall presentation. The storyline seems to be under fire, yet when you consider..

Aliens? Okay the flying saucer was probably unnecessary, but in Aztec religion were cosmic deities not worshipped? It makes sense, and it's not too absurd and out of context if you see it that way.

It is a shame it's getting such poor reviews, but in the darker recesses of the internet, it's also getting outstanding praise  . Perhaps the pessimistic approach is to ensure that no sequel is ever made =P which would be good to be honest. It was rounded off nicely.

I adored the original trilogy, and okay this does stand alone somewhat, but I think in terms of the overall timeline, it works quite well.

Just finished watching the new Indy film after days of avoiding every thread which could have contained spoilers.

I enjoyed it. My friends hated it. Was a good little film with plenty action, although it probably doesn't fit in with the IJ mythos.

At the end though, when Mutt was about to pick the hat up. That made me scream inside. Good job he didn't or else I would have lost all faith in the world.

Glad to hear Prince Caspian is going well! I can't wait to see it... And I definitely can't wait for the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and the Silver Chair, and the Last Battle  ! And I hope they do the Majician's Nephew and the Horse and his Boy.

Wait, that's it...

I can't believe the Shrek director is directing this... Good for him! :oh3:

I just watched the Bourne Identity last night. That was such a great movie, way better than Bond!

YOU TAKE THAT BACK!

Bond is more original and more adaptable, from the campiness of Roger Moore to the grittiness of Daniel Craig to the classicness (is that a word?) of Sean Connery, there's nothing he can't do!

I believe it was confirmed long ago that yes, they are doing all 7 of them over the years between now and 2012 or so. :classic:

Indy!

Um, don't you have more to say than that, Athos? Did you even like it?

I just got back from the movie. Went to watch The Chronicles of Narnia, Prince Caspian.

It's a fanastic movie, filled with a very complete story plot. There are many great battle scenes in this movie, and it's much better than its previous movie. The children had grown up, so except much much more from them. I truly enjoyed this 150 mins movie, and it's defintely worth your time to go and watch.

Fanastic movie! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Actually, this Indiana Jones 4 makes me wait for a long time (19 years) for it. That's why, when I enjoyed the most which means this movie is worth the wait and they retain the orignal style of Indiana Jones from its past 3 movies. Although, the movie plot is quite exaggerating, but it did not really destory its basic attractive factor which is pulling us to the theatres.

I hate to choose 1 out of the 4. I will rather watch all over again.

O_O I have to agree with you there. I'm so glad Indy picked it up!

Just got back from Indy IV, and I must say, it was VERY good, but the Giant Ants part grossed me out. I didn't open my mouth for the rest of the movie.

Now, I'm aware that many of you disliked the "Aliens" part, but it was actually my favorite part. Before you start throwing shoes at me and whatnot, let me explain:

I have always been facinated at how the word "aliens" is a might be the solutions to many mysteries. Let's take the Nazca Lines for instance; how did ancient people(?) create these drawings that can only be appriciated from the sky? Does the word "aliens" come to mind? I could go on, but I think I have made my point. Rant over.

Finally went to see Speed Racer yesterday. Despite the negative reviews, I loved it. It was suitably fun, and it was nice to be able to just switch off and not have to think too hard when watching something. Oh, and the cars were cool. I even picked up Speed Racer/Snake Oiler and Racer X/Taejo Tokokhan from Tesco on my way home. And they were on offer!

The only thing that did annoy me was the fact that everyone else in the screen took a toilet break at least once, some of the kids a lot more times. They seemed to be going in shifts as well. Seriously, it was like some sort of tag-team.

And I think I was the only adult there without a young child.

The exact same thing happened in my (second) showing! The same kids must have left the cinema 7 or 8 times.

You get the distinct impression that they weren't perhaps enjoying the film all that much. Still, I loved it, and that's what matters right?

Oh, and I don't think I mentioned Cruncher Block's truck before. Much, much cooler than TLC would have us believe.

Back to the Future Part 3

For all those not blessed by the godly image of Sean Connery as James Bond, the first 5 are 007 films, all fantastic but FRWL and Goldfinger being my favouites. The last, OHMSS, has George Lazenby in the title role who, while a lesser Bond, didn't prevent the movie from being great. I'm watching my entire Bond collection over the holidays on original VHS (bought them all weeks before the debut of the DVD  ) and I have to say I have a bit of a man-crush on Sean Connery

As for Back to the Future, brilliant films, ith that famous De Lorean, christopher Loyd's crazy hair, and a whole lot of time paradoxes and "Great Scott!"'s :cry_happy:

Well, since my brother got to go to Six Flags on an end of school year field trip today, my mom paid for me to go see Indiana Jones 4 with a friend.

To tell you the truth, I really liked it. It certainly wasn't a bad movie, by far. In fact, I really got a lot of the Indy feeling from this new one, even after all these years. From Indy's whip lashing in the begining, to his fear of snakes playing a part in a scene, to his arguring with Marion - it all felt familiar, in a very good way. :classic:

The only things I really didn't like were the uselessness of the character Ox, and the wild ending scene that was a bit too unbelieveable. Still, this is far better than the starwars prequels, and proof that they can make a decent sequel after 20 years.

I just got back from seeing Mongol (which required a bit of a journey as the local cinema doesn’t like anything that involves reading), generally I was impressive it was a good film well acted and with some great stunt work. I was a little disappointed that it ended when it did, though maybe we’ll get a sequel of conquering the world.
